We spent a pleasant evening in this restaurant which we happened on by chance. They were quite busy but the service was friendly and efficient. We both had steaks which were cooked just as ordered. The accompanying side dishes were excellent too.
Good range of dishes available

I checked Tripadvisor for restaurant reviews in Alma, and it appears that Rose & Basiic is the top of the list.... and for good reason. The experience was exceptional. The host was very professional and treated my like a long time client. The food was a gastronomical experience... I ordered the salmon (a la carte) and creme brulee for dessert. I was able to order a glass of Valpolicella (not on the wine list by glass, but I was treated to one anyway). The coffee is European style and excellent. All in all, the atmosphere and look is very nice, very European, the staff wonderful and although a little on the pricy side, it is worth the expense.
I was here in Feb so I was not able to enjoy the terasse, but it appears lovely. Parking lot is small, but about 500 feet away there is a parking complex (free).

We stumbled on the town of Alma while driving in the region, and were lucky enough to visit le Café du Clocher. The food was simple but outstanding, and our server (Pierre-Luc, I believe?) was warm, friendly and attentive. I'd recommend this restaurant enthusiastically.

Goofy's has been a staple since I was a kid. No trip home was ever complete without "une grosse poutine sauce bbq pi un Red Champagne". It's always packed with regulars and seemingly run into family here every trip. It's just good home cooking. Love this place

Visited twice on our trip home. Took a cousin out for supper and ordered the Roberto and All-Dressed pizzas. The cheese is ridiculously gooey and so good, as is the large pepperoni. On the second trip we had a club and all-dressed sub. Both incredible. Poutine, I would argue, is better than Chez Goofy because the sauce isn't as sweet. The desserts were amazing too. No complaints. We eat here often when we're "home". Best pizza in town

Le Crapaud is THE place to go for a fun night out. Great steaks, salads, pizzas and pastas! Something for everyone. Live DJ from Wednesday to Saturday night and the party goes on until 3am.
My wife had a pleasant meal at Le Crapaud (toad), a bar-cum-restaurant on one of the main downtown streets in Alma. We both had the light home-brewed Crapaud beer with a Crapaud burger, which consisted of finely sliced roast beef rather than patty. For dessert we shared a warm apple bundt cake. The service was pleasant throughout.

Cool place, great staff, delicious food: we had a kind of Bruschetta with salmon (craquelins saumon fume ) and nachos + artichoke sauce (trempette d'artichauts)... yummy! Wine is comparatively quite expensive but worth going.. Really nice guys, thanks!

On our family trips we often seek out local microbreweries to taste some new beers. We've been to dozens over the years and children have always been welcome. They get lemonades or something and everyone enjoys the scene. At 2:15pm on a Tuesday, our kids were not allowed inside the place. I assume because it is more of a bar than a brewpub there is a special law. The place opened at 2:00pm and nobody was there. We were interested in getting out of the sun, but were required to stay on the sunny Terrace.
As such, we were a bit dismayed, but looked forward to the drinks. The girls had yummy lemonades and I wife and I tried a couple beers. I had a DIPA and my wife tried a belgian-style offering. Both were decent, but not extraordinary. We were a bit disappointed.
The setup of the place is cool with big open windows, lots of Seating inside and some outside. I think it would be a good place to go with adults for drinks with friends, but not to try beers with your kids in tow.
