Nestled between the Mediterranean and the steep, forested hills that form its backdrop, Algiers is a city whose rich history can be seen in its architecture, from its Moorish mosques, Ottoman-style palaces and the Kasbah, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site, to its Berber fortifications, French colonial houses and modern boulevards. The city is home to numerous attractions, including the Great Mosque, the National Library, Martyrs Square, the Bardo Museum and multiple monuments and forts.

I came here after the resturant was recommended by a local. Algiers's food scene is underdeveloped to say the least, but Jenina was great. Maitre'de took my reservation over the phone and welcomed me when I arrived. Had delicious lamb tajine with couscous and vegetable. Ambience was ok , and there were allot of expats. Service was efficient. Overall, I would recommend.

Had a business dinner, good restaurant, excellent service, offer good fish, which seems to be hard to find in Alger. Offer beer and local wine and a fantastic chocolate coulant. My only criticism is that they allow smoking anywhere and for those who dont want to share a good fish with a cigarrette, is a shame, However, this seems to be everwhere in Algeria so not much it can be done until the law changes. Good service as well.

This was the third time I visit this place but unfortunately the quality of food was not as good as before. I almost asked for the same good dishes I used to have but could notice that the taste was not as good as it used to be. I also noticed that the food came quickly and all dishes at once, so I wasn’t sure how that happened. Still perceived by the locals as one of the best restaurants in Algeria, probably I would have agreed on this in the past.

While there are plenty of good restaurants in the heart of Algiers, sometimes it is nice to drive out to the countryside for a quiet, tasty meal. If you find yourself heading out to Cheraga, or points beyond, look for the windmill and stop for a meal at the Auberge du Moulin in Cheraga.
This restaurant has been going strong since the 1890s. They specialize in French dishes, but Algerian dishes like mechoui are also on the menu. I found the Cordon-bleu to be superb, with flavorful vegetables on the side.
The restaurant is on the pricy side ($22-25 a plate) even if one doesn’t order the hard drinks, but the cuisine, atmosphere, and refined service make it worthwhile for a special occasion. The interior has an old-world feel with well-appointed waiters, but as we were more casually dressed, we opted for lunch on the breezy Terrace.
p.s. Unless there is a side of the restaurant we didn't see, the outside photo currently on Trip Advisor doesn't look anything like the restaurant.

In Algeria you do not get so many options when it comes to so many things, fine dining is one of them.
Located at a top of the hill overlooking the whole capital, Al Boustan has an amazing view, out door/indoor Seating with very elegant set up.
The decoration is nice but not impressive, the service has a lot to be improved, the food was excellent.
One thing bothered me a lot and that there were flies going around in the restaurant even though we were seated inside.

The place has great food and with good service and classy atmosphere. It only serve dinner at 8:00 PM and doesn't serve lunch regularly. I would have given it 5 stars if it's open all day.Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Pleased to hear that you appreciate our food and service. We are open six days a week, Sunday - Friday, 12noon - 15:00 and 18:00 - 12midnight. Hope to see you again soon.

The Best Algiers Steack House. Live Music every week-end.
Easy to reach, it is in the mall. Nice interiors remind the Caribbean forest, warm atmosphere is so comfortable.
Food is good and prices good too.
The live show of the Cuban band is good.
The music is high and can result annoying. Except for this, I recommend it.

E' decisamente uno dei migliori ristoranti di algeri
What disappoints me the most are the waiters. Compared to other equivalent restaurants where the waiters come out of international hospitality management program and hotel management training, those of "Au bon Gibier" have no education at all and come out the street.
I invited a colleague of mine who was visiting Algiers. Being on the Terrace, he made himself a "homemade cigarette" with only tobacco in it. The waiters were making comments just behind his back thinking I couldn't understand them. They were complaining that he was dressed like a vagabond (even he had a casual shirt on) and he wasn't polite to smoke weed in a "respectable restaurant".
If these "waiters" have traveled a bit and had an open mind only a little, they wouldn't judge people on appearance. This colleague had more knowledge, respect, humility,... then all of them together.
The menu contains spelling mistakes and the food is ok but nothing exceptional.

This chic restaurant, in business since the 1970s, is very popular and Reservations are recommended. We were warmly greeted by a friendly host, possibly the owner, and promptly led to our upstairs table by a very pleasant waiter. The menu was elegant, featuring various types of grilled steaks, veal, chicken and lamb (available as filets or kebabs) as well as fresh fish. We immediately received two delicious salads, a spicy green pepper amuse bouche and freshly baked French and Algerian bread. It was a perfect start. My filet of veal was lean, cooked to perfection and the smooth as silk puree made from potatoes and carrots was to die for. Out of curiosity I also tried my brother-in-law's "Lotte", an impressive looking Mediterranean fish, which was amazing as well. Creme Caramel, Tiramisu and refreshing mint tea provided a perfect ending to an excellent dinner.

Yes it's a nice location, great view, different nice ambience... however the quantity of food served is too small, good for weight watchers. Prices are extremely high compared to quality/quantity matrix. Nice and friendly servers, but truly it's a one time experience.
