This restaurant is located in a historic building constructed in 1295. Parts of the original ceiling remain in place. For example, the restaurant's wood ceiling hasn't changed since 1295.
Stories aside... The 28 year old chef is amazing. Food is slow, but that's because he takes his time to do a great job. It's worth the wait.
Service is also slow, but the truth is that the waiters are really nice people.
The sicilian manager is a nice person as well and will guide you toward what you are really looking for.
Last but not least, the view is beautiful and the tables are wide and spaced from each other, a rarity in the center of zurich.
Highly recommended.

We had the greatest time at Rico's! We chose the 7 course meal and in reality there were about 12 courses! The food was amazing and the service impeccable! A must visit if visiting Zurich! I wish I could give it more stars!!!

The Pavillon, Baur au Lac's recently refurbished restaurant, features fresh and modern cuisine within an environment that effortlessly fuses contemporary and classic style. Head Chef Laurent Eperon creates an artful combination of traditional ingredients and flavors with creative and innovative preparations, and he, along with the Pavillon, was recently awarded his first Michelin star. Chef Eperon and the Pavillon also hold 17 GaultMillau points. The Pavillon is open year-round Monday through Friday and on Saturday evenings, and can accommodate up to 64 guests.
We came w another couple for an anniversary dinner. The dining area was lovely and the service was good. The tasting menu was quite excellent, worthy of its high Zurich price. However the dessert was a bit off, not that creative for a one Michelin star restaurant and a bit too sweet. A la cart prices are outrageously high, a simple small portion main dish would cost you on average 100 CHF. It is a very good one by Zurich standard.

The restaurant in a quiet location with sun Terrace and view of the Lake of Zurich
Let's jump to the main event: the food here was outstanding. Service was quite good and the hostess and server both provided great help in making choices. Everything they suggested was excellent. Great view, great food.
This is an expensive place. As I was staying in the hotel and didn't want to go back out after a long day, I decided to just go for it but in general, you might call this a "special occasion" place.
That said, I appreciate that the staff found me a place though I had no reservation (and it was a busy night with several groups) and the wait staff was attentive without making it seem they were pushing me out.
My biggest regret is that I didn't have room for desert, which looked excellent.

Went for lunch with my wife on a Thursday. The restaurant was reasonably busy and relatively loud. Good thing about that is, that you can have a conversation without constantly feeling like being heard by the whole restaurant.
Menue consists of classical dishes that are cooked to perfection. Needless to say everything comes at relatively high prices, but absolutely in line with price level in Zurich, thus not being overpriced at all.
Service is very attentive and cleary ranks among the best in town.

Sihlhalde is located in the beautiful countryside of Gattikon. The restaurant itself is romantic and rural with a small farm which belongs to the restaurant. The service is attentive and competent. We all went for the tasting menu. The homemade Brasato ravioli were definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Also the seabass was excellent. They have a nice selection of strong goat and sheep cheeses which I found amazing.

My family and I tried out Pizzeria Capri after hearing about it from a colleague. It's tucked back in a block of buildings, but is easy enough to find.
The interiour is chaming and rustic, albeit a little dated. Nonetheless, it was cozy and we had no complaints.
The menu is typical Italian fare, however we came for the pizzas and weren't disappointed. The pies were tasty, had fresh ingredients and had fantastic crust. Not to crispy, not too doughy...just right!
We will definitely be back.

I've booked this venue many a time for my executives but actually had the chance to go there myself last night and I now know why it receives such rave reviews from my bosses.
The setting is second to none: it's perched right on the lake with a large Terrace extending into the lake. The views of the lake and surrounding Mountains are mesmerising!
The menu is varied (if a little difficult to read as in a handwritten scrawl) and the portion sizes among the largest I've come across in Zurich. The food itself was outstanding and beautifully plated.
The staff was attentive and friendly.
Chez Fritz now ranks as one of my top picks in Zurich.

We went on a Saturday lunch with the grand parents, ourselves and our two kids. Good service, the kids had their colour pencils and their children cutlery waiting for them. Good food, fish and coquelet. the view on the lake is always as nice.
Just one surprise: but for my children and my wife I was by about 20 years the youngest customer. Maybe because nobody under 60 has time for lunch on a Saturday in Zurich.

Had dinner at Weisses Rossli on a rainy night in Zurich. Weisses Rossli is really easy to find, sumo,to take the 13 or 17 tram to Waffenplatzstrasse. A great example of Zurich's public transit.
It's a small restaurant with mostly tables side-to-side down the length of the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, perhaps the seats are just a little too close.
The food was really good. We started with buffalo mozzarella with tomato foam and melon balls. The mozzarella and tomato were wonderful together, the melon balls were a great contrast in taste.
As a main course my wife had a beef loin with French fries. The beef was perfectly prepared and quite good. She said the fries were 'just what I've been hungry for'. I had cod with mashed potatoes. The cod was flaky and accompanied by an extraordinary sauce. I have no idea what it was, but the sauce was perfect.
Weisses Rossli handled our requirement for gluten free dining with grace and skill. Service was very professional and very European in style.
We enjoyed Wesses Rossli very much, highly recommended.
