Wonderful missed opportunity here. Great location, with outstanding views of the ocean. Above average food, large portions and well priced. But service not Bali authentic. It’s just a job, better training would do wonders for the staff. The white stone on the sunny part of the deck absorbs and reflects the heat too much, so quite hot. Recommended nonetheless.

Fine and relaxed dining overlooking the ocean. International standard menu serving Indonesian and Western Cuisine; all at reasonable prices. Authentic Balinese cuisine cooked with freshly ground spices. Fresh fish daily from local fishermen, barbecued over coconut husks. Good Vegetarian selection. Children’s menu. Full bar with International and Balinese Wines, Cocktails and Cold Beer. All food and drink is prepared with Bottled Spring Water by our charming and friendly staff.
For dinner the first eve we shared Gado Gado and Tom Yum goong- tom yum indo style, not thai, thick and filling though delicious. The Gado gado (vegetarian with two groups of peanut sauce was huge! For main course we shared a starer of calamari with sambal and a pork stir fry- both delicious but they made it back to our villa for breakfast the next morning!! Portions are large, staff very friendly, it is a family type restaurant as a couple both times it hasn't been romantic. But the food is excellent!! Pretty ambience and a driver on hand for the return trip if needed. There are also plenty of western dishes on the menu which we didn't try as we were recommended to go for Balinese cuisine. We also learnt about Balinese culture from a lovely waiter Kepter.

Bali Asli is located in Gelumpang village, near the town of Amlapura, the capital of Karangasem regency, in the North East of Bali. About 2 hours drive from the airport, and 30 minutes from Candidasa village, and 30 minutes from Amed village. Nestled in the foot hills of Mount Agung, Bali's most sacred mountain, surrounded by rice fields, there is not a building to be seen. Bali Asli promotes Balinese cuisine and culture without exploiting it or it's people. We embrace our community, supporting those who fish, farm and forage in the near by fields, ocean and jungle. Our menu offers authentic Balinese food using a traditional Balinese style kitchen, cooking on wood-fired, mud brick stoves, allowing the real flavours of Bali to shine. Most of our ingredients are either grown in our garden, in our neighbour's garden or purchased from the local market The cooking school runs unique classes themed on "a day in the life of..." every class includes an adventure into local areas off the beaten track. Weather it is learning how to plant rice or plough with a cow, fishing in a jukung canoe and cooking on an open fire or making cocktails from cashew nut wine, our students always leave with fond memories and new skills to experiment with when they get home.
We had a wonderful experience gaining a fundamental insight into the ingredients so important for authentic Balinese & Indonesian food. We prepared, cooked & then ate Nasi Goreng..the best ever I’ve had in Asia. Thanks Penny and your wonderful staff for their hospitality. A must do event! At the very least, go and have lunch. You won’t be disappointed.

Warung Sabar is a good place to get some inexpensive but very tasty food. Staff is great too. It's right on the main road running along the coast of Amed so it's a great spot to do some people watching. Fish cakes, chicken satay, Mie goreng, and soto Ayam are all excellent. Definitely worth having a bite to eat here if you're in Amed.

A small restaurant with special meals and drinks in a friendly atmosphere. The location is in a sweet fishing-diving village on the eastern point of Bali. The delicious food, the amazing Panorama and the homemade specialties are what we guarantee. The only place in the are where you find home made pasta and several other Italian dish. Free pick up service available.
We found this restaurant on trip advisor and decided to give it a go as they offered free pick up service and the reviews were good!! WELL it definitely did not disappoint!! The food was amazing - especially the pizza and brownies!!!! The service was lovely - we actually recieved all our food at the same time which is a rare occurrence in Bali!!! No service and no tax and wasn't ridiculously priced!! Also free mineral water and appetizers were a lovely touch. The restaurant overlooked the sea and was in a lovely location!! It would be a shame if you visited Amed and didn't come here !!

I can only vouch for the food here, not the accomodation. You won't come across many great eateries this side of Bali, but Harmony is a cute restaurant and resort that offers customers healthy Balinese cuisine in a tranquil setting within walking distance from the beach. The vegetables and fish are all locally sourced and the dishes are consistently tasty and traditional to give you an authentic Balinese dining experience. The outdoor setting means that it's not necessarily the cleanest place with flies and mosquitoes often intruding on the experience, but this is Bali after all. Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, a pleasant experience to grab some healthy grub before you get on with your activities.

The owner was very sweet, when we arrived my partner said she was feeling nauseous so the owner took her head in her hands and started saying some prayer into the top of my partner’s head before blowing hard onto her skull. It was comforting and although it didn’t cure her nausea it got rid of her hiccups! As for the food, the flavours were good but the fish was tough and the food came out kind of cold which was weird because we were the only customers. Very good value for money though if only the fish had a better texture.

Warung Osin is a lovely restaurant on the front beach of Amed. Located on the main street of the town, in front of the hotel Cistra Lestari, Warung Osin is serving typical balinese familial food, tasty, familial and with nice portion. Nice music and free wifi are also available. If you are interested in learning cooking secrets we will be happy to share it with you.
We had a lovely meal here on our first night in amed. The food was nice and the Waitstaff were great. There was nothing special about the dishes we had. They were simple indonesian food but nothing to rave about. We didn't come back as we found another restaurant a couple of doors away that was amazing.
