Myself and a friend took a 3 week tour of Croatia starting in the south and working our way north. Along the way we found a sailing tour to an island and olive grove(nursery). However, the tour was discontinued. So with disappointment but intrepid i hunted for another way to meet our olive island dream. In my search I found Olynthia Natura Olive Factory and Tour. This tour is organized by the family owning the factory and olive nursery. We caught the ferry in split and taking a short and inexpensive ferry ride we were picked up by the company( in this case the owner and manager). We were given a wonderful tour ot the nursery, education regarding growing, harvesting and were introduced to a 1000 year old olive tree and it's many growing offspring surrounding the primary olive tree. We were then given a factory tour, taught the fine art of tasting "good" olive oil, discerning old olive oil and in general given a wonderful education. We were then provided a wonderful lunch all items provided allowing for the use of the many flavored oils produced by the factory. Ofcourse we purchased an assortment of oils all of which were packaged and mailed by the factory to the US. The package beat us home and allowed us to continue our love of Croatia and our new knowledge of "good" olive oil. This is a wonderful adventure, peaceful and relaxing. Our host and his family could not have been more kind and gave us such personal attention. Please consider this as a must do on a trip to Croatia we would do this again on our next trip. Don't be surprized if your email is answered by the owner himself. You will love Croatia and this tour.

If that is the name of the beach reviewed, than YES, it is great sandy beach, with low sea level, so the kids are enjoying it and parents are not in worries. You can rent a pedaline, there is also bar next to it, grocery store..you can't miss it, it is good visible immediately from the port.

I always like visiting Cemeteries in little villages, because they sometimes can be very interesting. In this cemetery I could see that there exist only a few different surnames on the graves. Some local people told me that many of the island citizens leaved this island decades ago and moved to America or some other counties. Today some of them (or their children) send money back, because they want to help the island. And some of them also have their last wish to be buried on this island.

Island has no hotels, no roads, no cars. You can visit two villages with some walking. More interesting is upper village, about 15 or 20 minutes walk from lover village and little more from the port. Just 180 people live between vineyards. You can visit church with wooden Christ, an old cemetery and some wine cellars. Locals are friendly when the don't meet aggressive tourist groups, running from one spot to another. They show some old costumes but it is hard to really see a women in such a dress. You can join organized tour from Mali Lošinj or rent a boat. Take half a day for a visit of this sandy island.
