This museum was pretty boring and small for the most part. The heartland stuff was amazing to see. I'm a huge heartland fan so that made me happy. The kids play area was super cool and great for learning my toddler had a blast and didn't want to leave. But other than those two things nothing else was exciting and we were maybe only in there for 10-15 minutes max.

A GREAT PLACE TO BE The Highwood has 28-Holes of golf operational as of July 1st, 2016. With the construction of a 1.6 km flood mitigation dike through and around our property, we have created four brand new holes designed by Les Furber and Tim Birnie of Golf Design Services (GDS). This will allow us to host 22-Hole shotgun tournaments as well as have two versions of our Heritage Nine. Construction of the Spitzee Six course is complete and the course is now open. We are also excited about our new grass tee, full length driving range with an expansive short game practice area. The Foxes Den Restaurant is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our banquet hall and meeting room are available for your next event. Our beautiful setting boasts the following amenities: 28-Holes of championship golf Grass tee driving Range, chipping green, short game area and putting green 200 person banquet hall 12 person meeting room 150 person licensed restaurant and patio Locker Rooms Golf Club and Golf Cart Storage Fully stocked Golf Pro Shop Club Repair facilities PGA Lesson Programs Outdoor wedding area Mission Statement & Core Values: We are dedicated to creating memorable golf and social experiences for all members and guests, while playing an active role in our community. We (5 Calgary seniors) drove out to the golf club for lunch today March 23rd, 2016. We ordered their Wednesday lunch special; soft tacos. I had it with spicy beaf and the others with chicken. We all enjoyed them. The serving size was ample and they were very tasty. The service was excellent. The golf course view adds to the ambiance. Once again, I recommend it highly.

Several of the downtown buildings have entire walls covered in very artisic murals depicting life in Alberta of days gone by. They are lovely to look at, some are fading now, but that just adds to the charm. Attention to detail is amazing! We really enjoyed seeing them during our stroll around High River. The pictures we took don't do them justice. Go see them in person to get the proper perspective and scale. Great artwork!

The spirit of High River renewal is best exemplified by the Evanescence Gallery. Devasted by last year's flood, this gallery is again a must go to destination in High River.
The collection has a wide selection of original works from Canadian artists & artisans. Gifts are available at all prices. I encourage anyone visiting High River to include this gallery with its picturesque displays on your travel itinerary.
Art Lessons are also available from a variety of artisans & artists.

I stumbled upon this little shop while visiting High River one day. Amazing unique pieces of jewellery and the leatherwork is stunning.
The owner is busy working on new pieces on site but is very warm and friendly and takes the time to chat and answer any questions you might have.

The Room At Home Gallery is located in the historic Bradley building, next to Maggie's Diner, the home of the Heartland TV Series. The Gallery celebrates Alberta and its artists, featuring acrylic art, watercolour, pencil art, fishing art, photography, MetalPrints, acrylic prints, canvas prints, framed and unframed original paintings and photographs, small gifts, and unique small furnishings.
Outstanding selection of local artists and photographers. There is a wide variety of work featuring life size canvases to small sketches. Everything is reasonably priced. The owner is super friendly and very knowledgable. A must stop if you are touring through High River for great souvenirs! This is my new favourite gallery!
