Ok, we are spoiled by huge, dazzling, deserted shell sand Beaches at home so perhaps this was why we were underwhelmed by this one. It's nice but not wow.Worth a longish trip just to see it? No.
It is however, a white sand beach which makes it lovelier in my eyes, than Kvalvika or Bunes Beaches.
We were staying in the area anyway for a few days so the beach was nice for a stroll. During summer, there were lots of camper vans and tents pitched at the back of it which detracts a bit from any sense of wildness. There is a small settlement(Haukland) behind the beach also.
The circular coastal walk round to Uttakleiv, a more dramatic spot, is well worth it though.Great, easy hike and even going part way up Mannen gives great coastal views too.

At Ballstad, on Vestvagoy island, the track starts at Kraemmervika and leads up on the hills with great views over Ballstad and surrounding area. The track is not signposted but it is clear and starts just behind the fish drying racks. It is moderate in difficulty, as it is steep at some points and muddy. Once you reach the plateau you can scroll around and admire the view, before you continue to the top. Return trip from the same track takes about 3-3 1/2 hours.

This is a must place to visit - so charming and peaceful. It's a bit away from center Lofoten - and you pass a stunning beach on the way (Haukland) that might entice you to stop - but keep on through a tunnel and then suddenly the tiny village appears in front of you, surrounded on 3 sides by big Mountains. And then a GIANT beach. Magic...

This is a very pleasant hike amidst beautiful scenery. Despite an elevation gain of around 700 meters the climb is always gentle and never gets very demanding. The views on the final part of the hike and on the top are fantastic, but to be fair we loved every part of this trail. You walk in the middle of ponds and little lakes and Valleys and the scenery is lovely from start to end. To complete the hike while taking a few photos breaks you'll probably need between 3 to 4 hours at an average pace. You can drive to the antenna were the hike starts but there isn't much parking space there so it's probably better to park on the asphalt road and walk on the gravel road to the antenna.

Cozy sportsbar in the middle of Lofoten at the small town of Leknes. Menu: Beer, wine and all sorts of drinks. Coffee and local food.
Quite new, this place offers a simple selection of drinks and a nice atmosphere. Try the local beers. You get people of all ages here, as it is one of only a few nightlife spots in town. As indicated by the name, very surf inspired interior.
