not your usual cave guiding walk. there three levels A, B, C . A is a classic cave walk the other two are more fun :) . they give you a "caving suit" and you actually need to try a little if you want to get to the end - there are parts where you have to do a little bit of climbing (in the B route, I havent tried the C but there you might have to do a little bit more of that light climbing)
and one more detail - if you want to get to the cave you need to hike about 1,5 hour uphill to get to it :)

There are 3 different narrow gauge lines, which vary from 20 minutes to 1 hour one way. The have old trains and also a couple of steam engines. The whole experience is well done with a nice ticket office, a little playground for kids, a small museum and really friendly staff. A nice day out and the destinations in the hills are great for a walk.

On your travels in Slovakia this is a must see place on your list. Especially on a hot day. The caves are cool and beautiful. You learn a great deal of the history of the caves, their uses and how they were formed. Thoroughly recommend a visit here!

This castle is accessible from two sides. One from Hungary (Somoskoujfalu) with not such a difficult hike. The more interesting hike is from the Slovakia side.
There is a parking spot on the beginning of the trail and your walk begins trough a national nature reserve. On the beginning you can come across many black and yellow salamanders.
Then you go a bit further and you come across basalt sea and basalt waterfall. As the whole place stand on a volcanic base and as a bonus on the top you can find the castle. Really recommend it with the hike. It is about 1,5 km one way. During summer period there is a small entrance fee.
After this castle you can visit the Salgo castle which you can actually see from this one.

Ski resorts in summer are a curious place, still busy still active but lacking the thing that makes them what they are, snow. These places need to do something else to create a new summer identity and other than the scenery and the Rotunda Restaurant it needs something.
The place is stunningly beautiful despite the building and investment work going on. The facilities are good and the network of chairlifts, funicular Railways and cable cars get you round the mountain quickly and easily. It is a magnificent place with views that are sublime!
It needs something like a network of mountain bike trails or downhill runs to give it a real identity all year round..... I'd love to visit in winter
