We hiked up to this church atop the volcano. The view were splendid. The church could use a little freshening up but over all it was really fun. Afterwards we hiked behind the church in the dry river bed and had other interesting views of the church. We went on A Sunday and it was not crowded.

Vińedos Don Leo its a MUST if you ever visit the State of Coahuila in Mexico. The scene through the road to get there is amazing. The winery is in the middle of mountains-literally between mountains- so you get a privileged view. Once you get there the building where the tour takes place is beautiful. Once we arrived they were waiting for us. It was a rainy day and they came out to greet us with umbrellas. The Oenologist and owners where there and they came to us to welcome us. Then we proceeded with the tour. Ivan who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable. He answered all our doubts and was kind and polite. The wine cellar is lovely, we had our wine testing there and it was great. They offered us cheese, meat and crackers (part of the tour we choose). We tasted three wines -two red and one white- and they were really good. I am not a white wine person and I liked the Sauvignon Blanc.
Once we concluded the wine testing we went back upstairs where there is a big hall with an amazing view to the vineyards and Mountains. They have a Terrace that is great for photos. We had our lunch there -part of the tour we choose, you have to do it before hand- and we were fortunate enough to share our meal with another group. The food was Mexican and it was delicious. The waitress and chef were all really good and helpful. The whole experience was beyond expectations. I definitely recommended.

Do some wine-tasting and take a free tour of this oldest winery in the Americas.

The Rivero Gonzalez Family grew up in Parras de la Fuente, a quiet north Mexican community in the state of Coahuila that loves the lands they live in and knows them like the back of their hands. With our days full of Sunshine, cool nights and hard working folk, this is a great place to produce wine in Mexico.
The tour is very interesting, the vineyard is very nice, the girl guiding the tour was super friendly and answered every question. You can tell she knows what she is talking about and loves it.
the wine tasting: I don't drink, but I definitely enjoyed the cheese, bread, pecans. Everyone left very happy.
