Övertorneå Municipality (Swedish: Övertorneå kommun, Meänkieli: Matarengi, Finnish: Ylitornion kunta; sometimes also referred to as Matarengin kunta by northern Finnish press to avoid confusion with the similarly named Finnish municipality Ylitornio) is a municipality in Norrbotten County in northern Sweden, bordering Finland. Its seat is located in Övertorneå.

The ski resort is located in a beautiful Torne river valley in Övertorneå kommun. Nearby villages are Övertorneå and Pello. In the main building are Panorama restaurant, Lobby Bar & Café, Sports Bar + Sun Terrace, Sauna, relax & yoga room, Pullinki Cinema and ski shop & rental with ping pong and pool table. Outdoor area has many fire places. Height altitude of the mountain is remarkable 253 meters. Area has has 5 lifts, 6 black, 2 red, 7 blue and 1 green slopes (kids land). Longest slope is 2,2km and altogether slopes has 22,5 km to ride. Winter season starts at December and lasts until end of April. Lifts are open daily / weekends depending on the season. Svanstein Ski has everything a ski resort can offer for snowboarders. Tons of powder everywhere! They rent surfboard shaped Gentem snowsurfboards for (3h, 25e).

Övertorneå kyrka är väl värd ett besök. Den är ganska speciell exteriört, med separat klocktorn, och vacker innuti. Där finns märkvärdiga träskulpturer(bl.a "Mantelmadonnan") från en kyrka från 1300-talet, som fördes bort av en vårflod. Sveriges äldsta orgel i bruk finns i kyrkan. Den fanns fram till slutet av 1700-talet i Tyska kyrkan i Stockholm, då den såldes till Övertorneå.

Dranglangan is a history and art museum that offers a look into the culture and art scene of Torne Valley. The five timbered buildings are from the 1700-1800s and house a cafe, gallery and a shop where you can buy vintage pieces and local art. There is also a possibility to rent the sauna and a cottage on the site and stay overnight.
