Located 18 km north & west of Fort Macleod, Alberta, Canada at a location where the foothills of the Rocky Mountains meet the Great Plains, one of the world's oldest, largest, and best preserved buffalo jumps can be found. Head-Smashed-In - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - has been used continuously by aboriginal peoples of the plains nearly 6,000 years.
Even if you are not a history buff you should see this exhibit both inside and outside (hope that you won't have to stand up to strong winds) . The cliff on the outside and the explanations inside are very enjoyable and educational.

We planned this last-minute and Anchor D was greatly accommodating. The horses were all great and the guides were even better. We had Bonnie and Ceri (Sorry if I spelled it wrong), and both were great with everyone and everything. You could tell they were great, caring people. I spent most of my time at the end of the line with Ceri and we talked about where she is from, New Zealand, and I left feeling like I had made a new friend.
The ride was 2 hours, had breath taking sights, and was around $80 with taxes. Our uncle waited with the owner while we were riding and said afterwards that he was a very hardworking and kind man. They didn't just talk, but put horseshoes on the horses.
I would recommend this company to all. Very friendly, safe, and cost efficient.

We stopped in to the museum while we were in the area. Surprised at the great displays and historical significance. Then the musical ride went beyond our expectations! Having ridden with a drill team, we appreciated the horsemanship and precision training of these young people and their horses. Super job!!

It was a pleasure to experience this historic theatre (over 100 years old). We attended a comedy musical production called 'Nunsense" all performed by local people and it was fun and entertaining. This theatre has a good feel to it.....a very homey atmosphere. I was very impressed with the neon tulips adorning the ceiling. The concession booth was in operation and food and drinks were allowed in the theatre. There are various Concerts, live theatre and movies offered throughout the year. Be sure and allow time to walk down the main street of Fort Macleod. It truly is picturesque and if you have time try out one of the restaurants. The Empress definitely deserves a visit.

this is a decent course to golf and only a short drive west from Lethbridge. there have been years when the bugs were bad, but this year was not so bad. The wind is probably the biggest negative so avoid it on days when its blowing hard, other than that it is a nice course to play for a change.
