This zoo is really well put together, has some good animals(especially the monkeys and giraffes) and is a great family day.
The food inside is also pretty inexpensive or you can also bring your own.
You can drive or also take the train from Estacion Central directly to the zoo (about 40 minutes or so?). Beware that on busy holiday weekends it may be hard to get space on the train for the way back.

We came here because we visited the Santa Rita winery, but it's well worth leaving Santiago for in its own right. Modern, well presented and wide-reaching (and with everything translated into good English). The Easter Island stuff and the 11000 bc display, as well as much else, is very good. (And they have wifi!!).

Come to visit our small and familiar vineyard. Learn about the chilean wine history and know what makes this place so perfect for wine. We'll show you around, show you how we make our wine and, of course, give you a nice taste of it. We are just 40 minutes away from Santiago, don't miss us! We'll be waiting for you!
It's tiny, you could easily miss it but when you get here it's a beautiful wine, l cannot find it in the U.K. So when I'm in Chile letters to get a few bottles to take home, get wines great people

Before coming to Chile, I'd not heard of Haras de Pirque. Luckily, Wines and Barrels brought me here for a tour and premium tasting when I asked them to arrange a day in Maipo Valley for me. The wine tasting and tour were great, but the standout was the amazing view.

Visiting Santa Rita winery is a fascinating journey through Chile’s cultural heritage and Chilean wine tradition, only 45 minutes from Santiago. At the foot of the Mountains in Alto Jahuel, Buin, the winery is surrounded by a unique environment where wine-making tradition, Chilean history, culture and gastronomy are blended together. To complement the different tours, the Andean museum exhibits over 2,000 pieces from Pre-Columbian and Post-Conquest Chile. In addition, our wine shop offers you the best selection of wines from our cellars, beautiful local crafts and wine-tastings. For lunch or just a snack The Doña Paula restaurant and La Panaderia Café offer you the best of Chilean gastronomy. Visitors can enjoy a unique and diverse experience all in one place, just steps away from Santiago.
We had our own guide take us to the winnery and were then in a small group tour of the lovely grounds and wine tasting We finished in the old owners house which is now a very smart restaurant beautiful table presentation and 3 different wines with this lovely meal. The waiters were attentive and topped us up as we were appreciative of their service.
