This place is located on Arabian sea in Maharashtra. Most convenient way is to reach Guhagar first on MSRTDC bus and spend a few days there and then take another bus to Veleneswar. The nearest rail head is Samantabari.
The place will give you authentic taste of a coastal village of Maharashtra. There is a MSTDC resort with online booking facility. There are a couple of private hotels there. All are close to beach.
There are many interesting spots to visit around Veleneswar, like black sand beach, a deep vertical fault in rocks on sea called Vaminghatal. The area is full of cashew and cinnamon plantations. There is a beautiful old temple dedicated to Parashurama and Shiva.

This was an excellent experience, we visited this place from Guhagar, we had to take a jetty( Launch) in which we had taken our Car. The experience was really interesting. After reaching this place, we learnt that the temple is located in lovely cave, the place is small but with a beautiful idol of Lordess Chandika, there are oil lamps lit every where to enable you to reach in side the cave. Its an awesome experience, you may feel as if you have reached Ardhakuwari in Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. There are hardly any visitors visiting this place, so its really peaceful and surrounded with natural beauty with lovely Mango Trees and other fruit trees. This place has to be experienced and cannot be explained and/or defined in words.

Almost untouched, unnoticed beach in Guhagar Taluk of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. Near Velneshwar, this place falls on the route with hardly a few Kms to and from from the main route. You wont find any commercial hospitality services to stay at this place. However, accommodation may be arranged at houses of Local Residents. On one side of the rocky offshoot inside the rough sea, an isolated beach while on other it is a rocky table land against which the Waves crash and present a nice manifesto of gods amazing creations. You are sure to find peace and meaning to be lonely here.
