The historic center of Bruges has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 thanks to its status as one of the commercial and cultural capitals of Europe and its enduring Gothic architecture. The Belgian city center is cited as a great example of a medieval historic settlement, even while it has evolved over the years.

Bizarium is a museum full of weird inventions. A museum of brilliant inventors and their boundless imagination, their technical ingenuity and above all immense passion. Bizarium inspires and surprises with genius, scientific and wacky inventions. Think of a flying bicycle, a walking submarine, a hair helmet, a swimming umbrella, as well as bizarre idees from geniuses like Leonardo da Vinci, Athanasius Kircher and Nikola Tesla.
Of all the rare museums I have visited, this is indisputably the best. Full of the most incredible and weirdest contraptions, passing through the attempts to reach perpetual motion, as well as the simplest inventions for solving unfeasible feats. This is a MUST VISIT if...MoreHello, Thanks for this great review and recommendation! We're pleased to hear you enjoyed our tour in the museum. Looking forward to see you back. Ann & Marc

About us The For Freedom Museum shows the bleak times of the Second World War in a dazzling, realistic way. No single inhabitant of the Zwin region and western Zeeland Flanders was spared hardship and repression between 1940 and 1944. This black period in our history forms the main theme of the museum. The collection The museum houses three impressive collections. Patrick Tierssoone and Freddy Jones, two old school friends with a passion for history, make available their unique collections of original vehicles and uniforms. The Belgian Aviation History Association (Bahaat), a recognised association of aviation archaeologists, is the third partner with an imposing exhibition of excavated aircraft remains.
What a great find. We were driving nearby and saw a beautiful windmill and decided to get a closer look. Right across the street was the museum and it looked interesting. We went in and paid the 8 euros and was asked to wait for...MoreWe truly thank you for your appreciation. As the museum has no financial support we depend on your comment. You are a real support to us.

It's an old fishermen's cottage from 250 years old.. Probably the oldest cottage of the Belgian coast. The museum is free, provided that you consume. The livingroom is 12p, gardin, 18p and you'll find the most cozy attic. There is a presentation on power point that shows the history of the cottage. Pieter Aspe, a crime writer, used the location for his book : "Ontmaskerd " The owners are real descendants of the original inhabitants. it is just around the corner of the Jose Hotel. It will bring you back in time. Enjoy

Very unpleasant boulevard with modern and ugly buildings, no cafes or anything to see, no trees. The river is pretty wide so no good views of ships either

Beautiful wide open sandy beach with private peaceful areas amongst the dunes also, commercial zones with plentiful beach restaurants and bars. The coastal tram service runs parallel with the beach. If you enjoy walking you can walk as far as you like then take a ride back to your starting point.

The Burg Square near the Markt place is one of the most beautifull places from Bruges.
You can take a lot of photo's from the City Hall, the Church of the Holy blood, the lovely other buildings on this square, the horse drawn carriages, etc. You can set on terras or in tearoom and look to the many visiting people. A must see if you visit the old town of Bruges.
