The Mauritshuis is home to the very best of Dutch Golden Age painting. The compact, yet world-renowned collection, is situated in the heart of The Hague, right next to the government centre. Masterpieces such as Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp by Rembrandt, The Goldfinch by Fabritius and The Bull by Potter are on permanent display in the intimate rooms of this seventeenth-century monument.
Excellent museum with a large variety of paintings. Each room provides another opportunity for more great artwork. We spent a couple of hours observing. You could spend the good part of a day!

Hofwijk was the summer home of Constantijn Huygens and family, including son Christian. This mansion has just undergone renovations, and is worth a visit. The grounds are interesting, laid out in the shape of a Human body. The grisaille paintings on the outside are beautiful. Inside is simple, the way that it was in Huygens (stadholder of the Netherlands) day. The attic shows some of the inventions of christian Huygens, an imminent scientist, and contempory of Isaac Newton. Once you have gone through the mansion, there is a canal cruise, included in the price of the ticket, to the Grote Kerk in the Hague, where there is a temporary exhibit of Constantijn and Christian Huygens. ( The visit as planned, actually starts in The Hague, then goes over to Hofwijk in
Voorburg by canal, but we did it 'backward', with a phone request.). The canal cruise part was interesting, lots of sights and facts along the way. This is a new attraction, open since the end of April. Well worth doing!

A very modern, personal, art collection housed in a beautiful modern building set in beautifully maintained Gardens. We loved the art; saw Rodney Graham's "That's Not Me" photographs exhibition, Ron Mueck's "Couple under an Umbrella, 2013", Leandra Erlich's "Swimming Pool, 2016" and Richard Serra's "Open Ended, 2007-2008". There was also some other modern art on display that we didn't like as much. The restaurant is over in the original estate build in 1912. We enjoyed "Voorlinden" a lot!

Be brave and go straight there if you want to have a meal! Lots of restaurants of different cuisine near the colourful cow reminding of the historical name of the place. My favorite restaurants there are Billy Bear and italian one. Cosy and spacy place for everyone!

The Louwman Museum is home to the world's oldest private collection of motor cars, compiled by two generations of the Louwman family. The museum dates back to 1934 and now comprises over two hundred and fifty antique and classic motor cars. Experts regard the collection as one of the most beautiful in the World. The museum exudes passion. Each car has its own story to tell, its own contribution to history. The motor car is a mirror of culture. The collection is housed in a purpose-built museum in The Hague, the city where P.W. Louwman established his Dodge and Chrysler import company. The building, designed by American architect Michael Graves, blends in sympathetically with its historic surroundings. The landscape Gardens, designed by Lodewijk Baljon, complement the architecture of the building.
I like cars and history - that's an important thing with this museum. The building itself is also a good example of post-modern architecture. Are not not really interested in either then go see something else in The Hague. You'll need at least 2 hours to walk through the museum which gives you a good overview of the development of cars from the very beginning. You will also find many celebritiy cars from The Godfather, Elvis, Winston Churchill. There are special temporary Exhibitions so check out the website before coming. The museum also has the most kitch museum café I have ever seen in my life.

Windmill De Vlieger is a poldermill built in 1621 to drain the Veen- en Binckhorstpolder. Its scoopwheel of more than 5 meters can drain the water from the polder up to a height of 1 meter. The mill is still fully operational and runs regularly. It has been transformed into a museum. The living room on the groundfloor still looks as in 1900. From the landing on the first floot one can see how the large vertical axle transfers the motion of the wings to the scoopwheel. On the second floor different operating models of several mill types can be seen.
Visting the windmill built in 1621. It's an amazing experience to come inside, go upstair to explore how it built n worked to ground their grain n keep their feet dry; how the miller n family lived and worked there. The place isn't big but i really enjoy spending time with a very nice guided tour to understand the genius idea of using the wind power in 17th century.

I live close by this historic building. Once, the city of Delft was completely walled against outside intruders (notably the Spanish troops), and had several town gates for passage. The Oostpoort (= East gate) is the last remaining example of these gates.
The setting is beautiful, and it is a favorite spot for newly weds to make their wedding photo's. It is for pedestrians and cyclists also a commonly used route to the town center, so be careful as there is no sidewalk...
This monument has been rented out by the municipality to a lady for 50 years in a row. On rare occasions it could be visited, because she organized Concerts with medieval music in the annex room above the arches. There was room for no more than 20 people.
Sadly, this lady passed away two years ago, and the place is now empy. Future plans with the Oostpoort are unknown to us. In the meantime all we can do is advise you to admire the splendor of this brick masterpiece of architecture from the outside.

A magnificent experience in time and space.
This 360 gigantic view of the beach in Scheveningen is absolutely amazing. It is also combined with a beautiful collection of paintings by Mesdag and other great Dutch artists.

This museum is very interesting, if you live in Voorburg, but unless you have a particular interest in the roman period in the Netherlands is not worth a detour. Voorburg used to be the roman city of Forum Hadriani. The museum has models of buildings from this city. The most interesting museum piece is the wheel of a cart from the roman period, which was excavated in Voorburg. Further there is art from Voorburg and items from Princes Marianne who lived in Voorburg in the nineteenth century.

One of the most charming cities we have visited. The weather was perfect and the city was alive and vibrant. We were amazed at how many people and especially families rode bicycles. The canals seemed cleaner than others we've seen. The people were very friendly. And of course we had to go in all the shops that had the Delft Ceramics, visit the Vermeer Museum and have lunch.
