Vildmark i Varmland offer unforgettable outdoor experiences. You build your own raft of logs and ropes and go down the river Klaralven in Varmland/Sweden. You do self-guided canoe trips in lakes and rivers. You do the experience - we will arrange the practical!
If you are taking a trip to Sweden to enjoy the beautiful country life of this amazing nation it would not be complete without a timber rafting trip. You start from the facilities in klaralvyn. I would recommend not to leave the camping and have dinner at the nearby hotel. which is a run-down and depressing place. Instead I would cook your dinner yourself in one of the small cabins we rented. The trip starts by building your own timber raft. This is quite more work than we expected and takes about 5 hours. In our case the explanation was quite poor, with only one instructor for 6 families, which was not nearly enough. Furthermore, we were quite rushed by the instructor, which I do not like on my holiday. After a good meal and a good sleep, we were of on our own build timber raft. This was quite an experience slowly drifting down the river. We were lucky to have great weather and no mosquitos. It was just one of the best experiences I ever had.

really enjoyed this two hour tour of the Moose Park, with the informative and humorous guide James who not only explained the extraordinary capabilities of these animals (which are incredible up close) but also gave a great intro to observing nature in Sweden in general.
Our kids aged 11 and 10 thought it was ace though our 2 year old's patience was a little tested.
All in all, a great visit in a most beautiful part of the world.

Torsby Skidtunnel & Sportcenter - experience winter on a summer dayThe ski tunnel is open for everyone. The temperature is always at a comfortable-3 degrees Celsius. To go cross-country skiing in the middle of the summer and experience the contrast between a hot summer day and a controlled environment with perfect skiing conditions can be exhilarating. The ski tunnel is perfect if you want to get an advantage over your opponents, learn how to ski, try the latest equipment, improve your technique or just get a good workout. Snow Guarantee - every day from June 1 st. The tracks (1,3 km) follows the natural terrain. Two classic cross country tracks and a skate track in the middle.
This is an incredible place in a lovely part of the country. You can cross country on real snow anytime of year. They have top of the range skate and classic equipment to rent or you can bring your own and there is a ski shop on site so you can buy all the kit if you want. There are a variety of ski passes you can buy. It was mid summer and sweltering outside yet a nice -3 C inside the tunnel. The tunnel is a loop with one steeper up and down hill and one longer less steep one. There is both a classic track and a skate track. it's a great place to try out cross country skiing or great to practice on snow. The staff both in reception and in the ski shop know there stuff, are very helpful and friendly. It is well worth a trip to Torsby and to the ski tunnel. There is a roller ski track and biatholon shooting range. It is a beautiful part of the country so you can combine with other sites.

We were here at the late sweden's summer.
We were all alone in the site!
The accommodation was fabulous!
Clean house and very large, that could load up to 10 persons!
There are a lot of attractions to do, and this place could be a starting point for its.
Exellent!

We had the wonderful opportunity to visit this sledge dogs site in the summer. Hans and Yvonne are very friendly and calm, they gave us and our kids plenty of time to meet the dogs and get used to one another. The dogs are all very huggable and open. After that we walked for about an hour through the woods and along the river, very pleasant and not much mosquitos. Highly recommended for any day during summer, make sure to contact them first because they have limited availability due to the warm weather and the conditions of the dog, who are always a bit out of shape during the summer season!

Karmenkynna , central Lekvattnet, has one of Värmland's finest collections of Finnish buildings. Here are 18 houses, all specific to the construction and housing culture, as in the 1600s immigrant Finns brought with them from Finland's eastern parts. Here are tools and utensils, which reveals much about these people's ways to manage and exploit nature, and their living conditions in general.
Old houses, traditional food, waffles and much more! All the houses are decorated with tradition furniture and old fashion style. When a break is needed one of the houses serves coffee, traditional lunch and waffles. And it tastes really good!

The homestead museum of Kollsberg in Torsby is located at the beautiful head of Lake Fryken. It gathers original wooden houses with traditional furnishings that once stood in the vicinity of Torsby. The museum is open summertime and by appointment. The museum café serves homebaked refreshments and the traditional meal "motti och fläsk". Check our calendar for year-round social events and markets.

Quided snow scooter tours in Finnskogen "the forest off the finns". Lots off nice scooter tracks, both for beginners and advanced.
