When I lived in the netherlands I used to visit Lucky Garden regularly. When I returned after 10 years I found that both service and food were still top notch.
The menu boasts a great variety of asian specialties. During my visit we had some Sateh, Babi Ketjap with fried rice and we shared this meal between 2 adults and 2 children, all four of us came out very satisfied.

After walking around this picturesque village we stopped here for lunch. The restaurant is situated on the bank of the river. There is a nice sitting area outside, but eating inside is just as good. The waitresses are very attentive. Their English is somewhat limited but they try their best. We tried the fish salad, tuna melt, three bruschettas, and fish and chips. Everything was very tasty and the presentation was excellent. Great place for lunch.

Take a minute to catch your breath from today’s hustle and bustle. In the beautiful ‘Ronde Hoep’ polder, between the villages of Amstelveen and Abcoude, where the three rivers "The Bullewijk", "The Holendrecht" and "The Waver" merge, you will find our uniquely situated restaurant. Only ten minutes from Amsterdam and Amstelveen. Looking out over the water and pastures you can see the skyline of Amsterdam Southeast with the Amsterdam Arena, Afas live and the Ziggo Dome. In this rural setting, in one of the most beautiful places in the Netherlands, you can enjoy pure, fresh, traditional international cuisine with Dutch influences, with the Leurs family and their staff. Fine wines, a warm, cosy and romantic atmosphere and attentive, friendly hostesses ensure you have a fantastic experience in a relaxed atmosphere. And always with ample and free parking... De Voetangel. That food... that hospitality... that view!
This family owned restaurant is situated in the country, some 15 minutes from Amsterdam center by car near the Amstel river. We first had drinks outside on the Terrace in the setting sun; just marvellous. Inside we had excellent dishes, everything fresh and tasty. Scallops to start were great and so was the vegetarian salade. Asparagus, fresh fish for main course, very good. The delicious Deserts and excellent wines made it complete. It's really a place worth of visiting when in Amsterdam!

De Lokeend has a French-style menu. The plates are nicely presented by enthusiastic staff. You can look into their kitchen from various tables, which is always a nice touch. The wine list is rather limited, but serves most appetites well. I liked the dishes - you should definitely try the parmesan+truffle sauce pasta which they prepare right at your table. The restaurant has an interesting location, about 20 kilometers south of Amsterdam on the A2 motorway, Vinkeveen exit, on the Vinkeveen side of the motorway and immediately parallel to it about one kilometer in the direction of Amsterdam. A good place to meet up with friends or business associates before or after visiting Amsterdam, methinks. Not a 3-star venue, but it didn't disappoint me and, especially if for some reason (free parking, shouldn't be any security concerns either) you like the location. Oh yes, should be even better in the summer because it has an outdoor dining area as well and is right on the edge of the Vinkeense Plassen lakes.

Michelin starred restaurant just 20 minutes away from the centre of Amsterdam. Our historical building at River the Vecht is situated in Vreeland, an idyllic small town with, from our Terrace, a view at the small bridge. The restaurant and boutique hotel is owned by Wilco & Caroline Berends. The young and professional team will welcome you in an informal atmosphere where the service standard is very high. Signature dishes of Chef Wilco are for example the Souffle, the cannaloni of North Sea crab and the main course with pigeon. Be welcome for a lunch, dinner, meeting, private dining and overnight stay. Free parking and WIFI.
Even though I asked for a different main course with very short notice (we had booked a package deal which included a 3 course dinner as well as lodgings and breakfast) my request was accommodated without a problem and the fish they served was very fresh and absolutely delicious. Also, the 3 course meal turned into a 7 course feast with little snacks served with our drinks and also between the courses.

Friends invited us and we knew it would be good since they are world travelers first class. We wanted to meet for lunch and all meals were excellent. I enjoyed Chicken salad without bacon, husband the salmon salad, friends the Bali steak salad. Side of fried was good too., and we were given a plate of brown bread when requested.
A relaxed and enjoyable meal for 4.
We will be back!

Had been here several times over the years but only to enjoy the sun on the vast Terrace. The food wasn't good, the service atrocious. But hey, the Terrace overlooking the small Angstel River lured us in. Fast forward to today. New ownership has reinvented the place. The ambiance is lovely inside and out, the food is good and affordable and the service is friendly and efficient. Whatever time of day you choose to go, even when the sun isn't shining, it's unlikely you'll be disappointed. Great coffee, amazing homemade apple pie and their Caesar salad is hand's down the best I've had in this country. Many good wines served by the glass and there's a gin & tonic menu. The bar scene is lively and the restaurant seems fully booked most nights so Reservations recommended for both lunch and dinner.

dutch / French restaurant in a converted gunpowder fatcory
This place seems to be frequented by business folks, as just a few tables on a Thursday evening were occupied by 'casual diners'.
The vegetarian menu, preceded by a rather salty amuse bouche, kicked off with chips of herbs. The dish was well-balanced and enjoyable, just as the buckwheat blini with asparagus. The entremet of delicious truffle risotto was undoubtedly the best part of the menu. The main dish of beet and polenta fries was far less spectacular, but still pleasant. Unfortunately, the dessert of half-melted ice cream with berries was forgettable.
Service was friendly overall, but the waiting time between the courses was inconsistent, and after the third course, exceptionally long up to an hour. A fully-occupied restaurant should not be an excuse to shift the burden of success to its customers.
The bill for two persons including sparkling water and a glass of wine came close to 100 EUR.
It was a fair experience, but not worth a detour.

Went with small group for dinner. This is deconstructed food that is modern and innovative. We had 6 courses and all very good. Chef explains all the ingredients which were tasty and fresh. Great style and worth the trip from Amsterdam yes. Would go again for sure.

We were here for lunch during a top 10 restaurant week last week. It was a stunning meal kicking off with four superb amuses. Especially delightful was the lobster terrine starter. The ambiance is relaxed, there's an open kitchen, the service efficient and the chef came by the table for a chat. So, all good. Another plus is the location, a lovely old building in a village very close to the A2 and plentiful parking. Highly recommend all around.
