Let´s say you love Mexico, let´s say you travel with kids, let´s say you do love miniatures, if so don´t miss the new miniature museum in central Mexico at Tequisquiapan, one hour drive from Queretaro. I had a great time touring the museum, with my family getting to know the history, traditions and celebrations of ancient and present Mexico. Everything in there for exhibition is kids scale, including the tiny chairs and tables at the restaurant! Enjoy the Museum next to the shopping around main square, not to mention the cheese & wine tours in and around Tequisquiapan.

Sampled soooo many different cheeses and ended up coming home with 3 hard cheeses with lots of flavour. Would recommend having some water to drink between the cheese because there were so many different ones. Cow, goat and buffalo, if you love cheese stop by one of these shops!

The conquerors of this land wrested enormous mineral fortunes from it, and constructed flamboyant edifices packed with wealth and precious stones, meanwhile enslaving the indigenous population and bankrupting Spain through inflation. This church in keeping with the ambience of Tequisquiapan is modest and simple, the interior even a bit austere. The facade is very pretty with simple lines and understated pastel colors.
Sitting in the plaza viewing it through the trees is a tranquil pleasure.

At the time of my visit, there were 3 indoor markets. Two were quite large and one was small but had two floor space. I loved the markets. They have local food (with 0 American influence), traditional snacks (corns, candied nuts and seeds, fruit juice), and even handmade shoes. I also enjoyed several galleries across from the Templo de Santa Maria de la Asuncion and bought one large painting. Price was excellent. Merchants are nice. They will let me try things but never pressured me to buy. Food at the restaurant (we tried the place that claims to have the best paella in the world) was good. The town is a great place to visit for a day if you are staying in Queretaro.

The park is walking distance from the artisan market and across the street from el Centro Cultural. The park is spacious and it is ideal place for you to plop down and read a book. It is a good place to visit if you have children. The park consists of a playground and a water canal. It is lined with trees that provide great shade for an afternoon nap. There is a snack stand available on the premises.

I visited this water park as part of a friends vacation with kids. The weather forecast wasn't so attractive as it said few sunny hours and a rain and it ended up in cold breezes and rain with less than 1 hour of sun.
I totally recommend to arrive early to the park as it is crowded during vacation days and many families visit this and other "balnearios" or water parks.
It is advertised as "aguas termales" or hot Springs but to be honest, most of the pools were barely lukewarm. May be in hotter days the water would feel better.
As for the facilities, the water park is well equipped. It has different areas: green areas, grills, sledges, kids pool, wave pool, a fast food restaurant, mini super, kids playground and "palapas" or tables with a hut near the main pools.
You can rent sets of tables and chairs for $50 pesos and it will help you organize your food and belongings.
There is, of course, restrooms and showers, a parking lot and many cool areas to sit with the family and friends.
It is a nice place, just check the weather forecast before going there.

Nos encantó este lugar. El agua es muy limpia y a una temperatura ideal. Me encantó la alberca de olas porque tiene diferentes profundidades, así que toda la familia pudo disfrutarla.
