Just ten miles west of Ocho Rios, Runaway Bay's stunning beaches see far fewer footprints than its neighbors. It's also removed from the cruise ship herds and pushy vendors. Perfect for those happy not to wander far from their resort, there are a few nearby attractions nonetheless. Bob Marley's childhood home and mausoleum is in nearby Nine Mile. Jamaican history is on view at Seville Great House and at Columbus Park Museum. To explore, rent a reliable vehicle and remember to drive on the left.

This month I make several dives with Jamaica Scuba Divers. They picked me at by the Hotel only 5 minutes away from the place they stay. 8 dives I did with David Anderson. He is a very relaxed dive guide and very helpful concerning the divers. I had a wonderfull time each dive again. Thanks to David and Kevar the captain of the boat.
Thanks for the great time guys.

My spouse and I went to Stush in the Bush the Tuesday after our wedding at a resort in Trelawny. I will preface this review by saying that while my spouse is heavily invested in sustainability, he is staunchly anti-frou-frou and hesitant regarding the culture around veganism. In contrast to his utilitarian mindset, I enjoy the poetry of all things (including landscape and food). So, while I found joy in both the stush and the bush, my spouse was more invested in the bush than the stush (but as his partner, one of my responsibilities is to expose him to things that he would ignore).
Stush in the Bush is a beautiful contrast to the resort culture along the coast in both landscape and weather (it is significantly cooler, making it very comfortable), and Chris and Lisa are both wonderful hosts to this beautiful experience.
We had a wonderful driver (Mario) who took us from our resort to the road to Stush and roamed with us while we waited for Chris to pick us up. While we waited for our other co-diners to arrive, Chris drove us to experience some beautiful landscape in St. Ann’s, filling the ride with a rich history that both the Utilitarian and the Poet loved. After picking up our fellow diners, we made our way to the house, where we were greeted by Lisa and other members of their staff. The passion fruit punch and starters (absolutely loved the plantain ceviche) were delightful.
After starters, we were taken on a walk-about through the farm with Chris and Stout. It was mesmerizing and a wonderful hands-on experience. After our walk-about and picking some herbs and learning about some of the agriculture of Jamaica, we returned for dinner.
The dinner was lovely, but is an experience to which you have to open yourself (and Lisa is wonderful about inviting you to be open to it). The bounty of the land and Lisa will determine your menu for the day/evening (I've learned that in Jamaica, it is best to give yourself over to the island). We had the full experience, and each dish is incredibly fresh and beautifully plated, as one would expect during a fine dining experience. My favorites were the beet carpaccio and beignets, but I enjoyed the food overall (I could go on, but I will stop here).
I recommend it for those who want to enjoy a down-to-earth fine dining experience in a beautiful setting.

We are a boutique organization certified by the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB). We specialize in ground transportation offering services such as cruise ship and airport pick up as well as airport transfer.
This man deserves every accolade that he gets. We travelled to Jamaica last minute because my father had a Stroke.
Dijon picked us up everyday and waited patiently for hours. We then had to research nursing homes and he took us to several suitable ones, which we would never have known about. He also took us to get bedding as our father was lying on a mattress at St Ann’s Bay Hospital with no bed sheets. He stopped so that we could get him, hot soup etc.
He was a beacon during a painful and upsetting visit. Thank you Dijon from Ian and Wendy.

We are a PADI 5 Star facility, located in beautiful Jamaica offering a wide array of scuba diving and Water Sports. We have locations in the tourist mecca of Jamaica and a new beach facility off the tranquil waters of Runaway Bay. We also offer free pick up service from area hotels and cruise terminals in both Ocho Rios, Runaway Bay and Falmouth.
Here's a great little travel secret. Resort Diver's is operating from the Jewel Dunn's River resort. Anthony and Asher were great dive guides. We had a problem with our dive computer batteries and they lent us their equipment to use for the week. Dive center is a little lacking in tools, so if you are bringing your own equipment double check your gear. Otherwise, their offering of BCD's and dive equipment was on par with other resorts we have stayed at. Reef diving from the resort is less than a 5 minute boat ride. Decent fish sightings, however I think they need to do a better job of removing the Lionfish from the reef. I saw too many and would have speared them myself. Best dive was one where we drove to the Resort Diver's HQ a few miles from the resort and dove on several Aircraft wreckages and a sunken barge. The canyon dive after that had lots of reef fish.

Our caddies, LaSalle and Melbourne, have become our extended family in the 25 years we,ve been vacationing in Runaway Bay. They are the main reason we keep returning. And Albert and Karl are amazing. They enhance our golf fun from the very first moment. And...MoreHello Betsyflynn, thank you so much for your review. I love this place and have been here a few times. They have a nice location next to the fishermans beach on the east end of Runaway Bay. The prices are good, the food is good and the view is nice. The prices are reasonable, but just a little higher than a few others in the area, but worth it. I'm just talking about the price of a red stripe, its maybe $50 JA more or $0.50 US, not much. They don't allow people to loiter and that it great, because you won't be hassled by and local beggars.

I actually just found out I could writ a review for this! My experience with Everton was last November. I was on a cruise but had business to attend to while in Ochi. Everton was on time, courteous & all around a great man! I recommended him to some family recently (8/19) & they were especially impressed! Everton is THE MAN!
