Spiaggia Is Arenas Bianca

There are two ways to reach this wonderfull beach, one goes in the middle of the Army base the other one is close to Porto Pino road.
We took the second one, since we've been told that the parking is closer to the beach.
This beach is really huge, therefore even on high season you won't have others armpits under aside your beach towel.
The water is crystal clear, the sand is whitest, on the back only sand dunes, awesome!

This was a great beach, we went in October and it was not crowded at all. The water was warm and very clear, did some snorkling and found a few fish. But the water was so clear, we actually were just pointing out fish around as we were in the sea. There are a couple bars on the beach to get a quick snack or a beer.

Nuraghe Arrubiu

Reviewed By seolram - Leiden, The Netherlands

This type of Nuraghe( megalithic towers typical for Sardinia, built between 1500-900 BC) is called a pentilobate because the main building had 5 towers around the central tower. This is the most complex type of Nuraghi.
The nuraghe is called 'Arrubiu' since the color of the basalt stones are red-ish, so: 'the red nuraghe' or even 'the red giant' . Archaeologists date this Nuraghe around 14th century BC. It must have been one of the largest Nuraghi: the central tower was about 27m. high. With this hight it must have been the second- largest monumental building in the mediterranean world in proto-history (before classical times), right after the pyramids!
Besides the 5 main towers there was a defense- system with at least 19 more towers. There was a collapse in the 10th or 9th century and the settlement was abandonned, but occupied again by the Romans, who had a winery on the premises.
There is still much to see: the ground floor of the main tower is completely intact, there are some reconstructions of the houses and the winery has been rebuilt in a different part of the site. Archaeologists have marked the parts where they have removed rubble, which enables you to get an idea of the work that has been done to make everything visble to us again and also how much more has to be done to litteraly get to the bottom of matters.
Since 1981 there has been extensive research on this site, the books on the subject of this settlement are great (I can give you a list of what to read, when interested).
When you are interested in archaeology or are a big architecture-fan, this is a site you cannot miss!

To start with the inconvenient stuff - one toilet for each gender on entire beach....regularly cleaned and attended so you can always get the 50c you need to operate. Not that busy which begs the obvious question as to what others are doing.......
Couple of beach bars hiring chairs at 30 euros for 2 chairs + umbrella ( in Sept, more in high season). Limited lunch menus, the one we went to had sold out of virtually all hot dishes. It also, being at south end, loses the sun earlier so pick the more central beach bar if you want to hire chairs, and get a better lunch selection. Neither have their own toilets.
Otherwise public area very good and you can still get snacks at the beach bars anyway.
Sand is okay, very soft and a kind of off grey. It's not white sand. Water is crystal clear and very gently shelving so good for kids.
Great highlight is to walk to the lagoon at the end of the day to see the flamingos.
Parking 3 euros well worth it to avoid a long walk.

Great beach with good beach bar, umbrellas and seats for rent. We just took our own umbrella and stayed on the right hand side looking at the beach.
Tip: come late afternoon only and stay until 7pm or even 8pm, the beach will be almost empty and you have the place for your own!

I've never been to a beach like this. Be careful not to miss it. It's right off the side of the road it'll sneak up on you. There are some sandy spots to lay on, but mostly pebbles. There is a place that rents out lounge chairs near by. If you're going to stay for awhile I suggest renting one out for a couple euro. Wear sandals as it can be a bit rough on the feet. I recommend you wear them down to the shore line if you decide to get in the water. Get there early for parking.

Area Marina Protetta Capo Carbonara

Very close to Villasimius, a small town on the south coast, Capo Carbonara has few little, typical Sardinian Beaches, and rocky Islands scattered around the sea. You can either take a boat or hike on the hills near the marina in Vilassimius. The landscape is beautiful, but similar to the rest of Sardinian coast. It is nice to spend a couple of hours there and enjoy the views or sunbathe. However, it's not exceptional when compared to other similar areas.

Monte Cogoni Beach

Reviewed By chocdikrab - Frankfurt, Germany

monte gogoni, located on the costa del sud is the second of vour Beaches, which are strung together like pearls on a chain. the beach is big and wide, a typical logoon is in the back in which flamingos are nisting.
the beach is well sign posted, has no natural shadow zones and it is absolutely neccessary to have parasol and sun protection in the beach luggage.
the is a Beach Bar located on the area. about the prices we cannot give any information.
the fine sandy beach slopes gently to the sea and offers every shade of blue. we had a lot of fun to swim and splash there.
we visited monte gogoni beach during the week and there were not so many visitors around as we thought. the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed.
we can recomment monte gogoni beach very much. we had a perfect stay there.
