Parco Zoo Punta Verde is a privately run zoo and consequently receives no public funds. Its revenue is derived solely from its entrance fees. Parco Zoo Punta Verde’s Mission is founded on four key points: Education of the public to raise awareness and sensitivity about animals and the environment, with targeted educational programs aimed at the general public and schools of all types and levels. Conservation of endangered species through in situ and ex situ programmes. The zoo’s visitors are active participants in its awareness and fundraising campaigns that allow endangered species to be protected in their natural habitats while offering the local populations opportunities for sustainable development. Research via partnerships with organizations such as universities, museums and scientific institutions in general. And last, but not least, the excitement of a day out for adults and children alike, in a pleasant setting that brings them into contact with nature, thus helping to respect it. Visiting a modern zoo means ensuring a future for nature, thanks to all the ventures aimed at preserving its delicate balance. Parco Zoo Punta Verde covers an area of 100,000 square metres in a loop of the Tagliamento river, in the north-western part of the Lignano peninsula, and is home to over 1,000 animals of around 200 species of mammals, birds and reptiles. The zoo is open from March to November; opening hours can be found on the official website
Very relaxing place, beautiful and well maintained. Recomended for family with young children and also for romantic couples, who loves nature. Be there in the morning....in the afternoon animals is not so active.

We visited in june and it was moderately busy. I cannot imagine the crowds in high season! If you are not a fan of crowds, avoid it. Otherwise the staff is polite. They escort you to your umbrella. All the facilities are in good condition.

It was a pleasent day in Lignano Sabbiadoro at Doggy Beach Lignano. The beach is next to other Beaches at Lungo Mare Marin street (It wasn't easy to park the car there, because there are many Beaches there), but you will recognize it if you walk through the sandy Beaches. It is a half separated beach for dogs and dog owners with lockers, toilettes, showers, taps, sunbeds and umbrellas.
Very popular beach, there are a lots of visitors there. 2 sunbeds with umbrella for a half day was 18 Euro, i think it is affordable; and so the beach buffet where you can find coffe, drinks and food as well. The beach is sandy with a connection to the sea. Bring towels for your dog!
You get at the entrance a plate for the dog to drink, the staff is very kind, they escort you to your place and he/she gives fresh water for the dog.
You have to keep your dog leashed- there are so many dogs, so many problems could be if the dogs would be unleashed. Of course if you go to the water you can unleash your buddy.
My impression was good about the place, we really enjoyed it ( our pug as well ) and i recommend it if you are in Lignano with your dog. whole day or half day recommended.

you can have a nice walk on the pier right to the lighthouse which is about 200m far from the shore. we have seen it during the day and also in the night. Pity was that the pier was not illuminated, but it seemed that some time ago the illumination worked as there are lot of lights located there.

We will reopen Sunday, April 9, 2017
There are lot of attractions where you kids can have great time. You can go for chips where for each attraction you need one or two chips, or you could have the whole package for some 20 euro which is worth it. You can have a cup of coffee while your children are playing which is a relaxing after a day spent on the beach.

We visited yesterday- it's not easily signed as the neighbouring aquarium dominates the signage and I couldn't find a working website online.
We arrived for when the park opened at 10 (be aware that the slides etc don't open until 10.30).
It's still early in the season so the park was pretty quiet, luckily for us.
I was on my own with two varying aged children, so the size of the park was ideal for me....We had previously visited Aqualandia which is fab- but a bit big for me to be outnumbered by kids!
We didn't buy anything at the park- it's already an outlay to enter (IMO) €22 for over 8s €17 3-8 year olds.
The other reviews here are accurate regarding the park/food/facilities etc.
It does the job. The children were happy, however it's not a place the I had to peel them out of at closing as I did Aqualandia.
Negative point was there was ALOT of birds mess going up the tower- hard to step over it!!!! Also there was a staff member who according to my son, used bad language which was also a pity.
All in all we left happy enough.
