Vi var ett gäng på ca 15 personer som var där och spelade paintball. Det var en riktigt rolig upplevelse! Banan var skoj, ny och fin utrustning. Vi rekommenderar detta starkt. Det funkade bra för både barn och vuxna!

The museum itself is a gem but the modern art exhibited is just ridiculously uninteresting especially that of the artist in the basement. Interesting sculptures on the first floor.

Borgholms Slott

800 years of Swedish history are on display at this beautiful castle.

The remains of this castle have been excellently preserved after the ravages of time, wars and fire. There are great views over the town. It contains an excellent museum that tells the story of the castle (that is a chapter of the history of the region and, indeed, the country). The museum is very well curated with explanations in English as well as a free audio guide that you can download to your smartphone. Note that the castle is only 15 minutes' walk (along a nature trail) from the Royal Summer Palace at Solliden.

It's this kind of place when you can feel, sense the prehistory, the shred of the mankind.
Difficult to find (no road-singes or guideposts), accessible by 'dirt road' only and last 300-400 meters by foot through the wetland forest. Isn't easy to find this place. But - worth to do it if You want to experience the fortified settlement of the shadows of humankind history.
Stony defensive wall with 9 gates surrounds stony village. Beautifully situated in a forested nature reserve with surrounding meadows. All built on the set of the circle. At present - Y can see stones piled up to a height of about one meter - but it still gives a big impression of builders from the past (constructed about 200 CE during the Migration Period!).
Proper place to sit-down and become lost in thought. To catch the mental contact with ancestors. For me - it's the most important attraction on Oland. If You can find it ...
No WC, no kiosk, no fast-food point, no cashier desk, no souvenir shop. Nothing is there from our present civilisation and it's wonderful :). Only You, stones and the Past.

We visited the Gardens of this slott.
It belongs to the Sweden's Royal family.
It's a very nice mediterrian looking house with wonderfull Gardens
It was built as a summer-house by Queen Victoria, who had drawn her inspiration from the Swedish doctor Axel Munthe's Italian villa San Michele on Capri.
Victoria had bronchial problems and escaped to the milder climates of Oland.
"You can breathe here " was said.
The first foundation stone was laid in 1903.
It could be used in 1906.
It has some different styled Gardens, with also a tennis-court and a croquet lawn.
There is also a " Dutch rose garden ".
It was a present from the Dutch court to Queen Victoria on her 60th birthday in 1922, she died in 1930.
The plants, flowers, waterfall, the English and Italian parks are so wonderfull and in different times of the year the smell of the flowers is really breathtaking.
It's closed during the time the Royal family is here.
It's a great pleasure to visit it.

This royal white castle for one's thoughts back to the last century and a romantic dream of the Mediterranean and Italian culture. The small beautiful accompanying park is, as usual, typical Swedish manners, a mixture between, French, English and Italian. And if you are lucky you can get a glimpse of the royal family.
