Litterally I drove around a corner and I spotted the chedi but my Thai partner spotted a fruit market opposite so we stopped to have a look. Very nice to look at and take a few pics but we asked how long it had been there expecting at least a few hundred years but we were told about 20 years. I would say stop if you are going past but don't go out of your way thinking it is a bit special.

On a recent trip to Khao Kho my Thai wife pointed out the wind turbines on a distant hill, she said she would like to see them up close. I thought Ok, thinking that we would be the only ones there. How wrong I was !!!! On arriving via some winding country roads I was amazed at the many hundreds if not thousands of Thai families, already there. There where also many food stalls and gift stalls set up to cater for the crowds.

Khao Kho is almost completely covered by foothills of the Phetchabun Mountains. The area was the scene of military clashes between the Thai army and insurgent Communists who wanted to set up a refuge in the Mountains here. The almost treeless area (today with many resort bungalows in cute colors) was a battlefield in the '80s. More than 2,000 died in the fighting. A monument was erected and a museum. Both are located at around 1,150 meters above sea level. A strategic location, of course. Currently being built around the monument, perhaps information boards will also soon set up in English.

While travelling to another place, my girlfriend and I stopped here just to see the scenic views. Actually, our taxi driver stopped here and we were forced to see the scenic views - but, hey, it's free and scenic! Not much else to add.

Sri Dit Falls A place to relax while watching Teutonic cu Waterfalls and Forests are abundant. The food and vending machines And if the next season of Strawberry Controller. It will sell strawberry, berry, which is cheaper than the market, and in part to keep fresh from the tree. No matter where you live, not live it. It is highly important to tell the Sri-dit Waterfalls here. Do not swim flatly wrong. When a go at it alone, you will see signs that prohibit swimming. To tell the history of the waterfall to listen to it.
That place was once a battle with the country's military was uncertain as well. And the military has Krado falls down to battle away but something unexpected happened. When the fighting was not sinking yet no military people up off the water.
What a story told as to whether a mysterious ghost pulled out with. But in fact, the bottom of the basin pan caused a vortex. Although that ice could not survive.

The previous month we'd been in the lovely coffee shop opposite the farm entrance mI'm guessing the farm owns the coffee shop) on the main road but that day the farm was closed.
This visit we were again in the coffee shop for coffee cakes and ice cream and as they said the farm was open we visited.
So glad we visited. It's such a lovely place and both the wife and I agreed it would be lovely to live here (mosis excepted).
There were no other visitors. Two ladies serving in the shop ( we bought some star fruit and 3 types of jam I've yet to try) and one lady using the rice threshing machine in the nursery.
Lovely quiet peaceful beautiful place...well jealous of the owners.

Absolutely not what I was expecting! A modern building that wouldn't look out of place in a european private estate. Open to the public to walk around the estate but no entry to the building with no fee when there is no royalty in residence, guarded by the army as one would expect. Right smack in the middle is a massive radio tower which runs in line with the King keeping communication with all the law enforcement. Beautiful Gardens with flowers and pine trees galore but not the palace I was expecting..

We recently drove across Northeastern Thailand to explore the Isan area and along the way we found this interesting military museum situated on top of a high mountain peak near Khao Kho. It was intersting to read about the Thai military fighting against the Communists and in such a remote atea of Thailand. The musuem was nicely done and the grounds were fascinating. Lots of military things to see there and great views of the surrounding countryside villages below.
