I took my son to seaworld as a kindergarten graduation trip last spring and we had a wonderful time! The park is perhaps not as spectacualar as San Dieago Seaworld, so do not expect quite the scale and showmanship of the Seaworld Parks in the USA, but it is not nearly as costly to go to this park for admission fee. The seaview was and extra bonus as Kamogawa has a nice, large beach along the pacific with a great panaramic view from Seaworld. We were plenty impressed with the shows, but even more impressed with the aquarium indoors! A great collection of sea life on display inside as well as outside. The cafeteria was afforable and had some nice children's sets. I recommend going on a weekday if you can and enjoy the time at seaworld without crowds. It makes a nice day trip from Tokyo by bus and even the experience of the bus ride going out to Kamogawa via aqualine was an enjoyable experience.

This is the Buddhist temple of the Nichiren sect built in the place where Nichiren was born. This is a sacred place located in Kominato, in Southern Chiba, facing the Pacific Ocean. Nichiren was born in 1222. His father was Nukina Jiro Shigetada, and his mother was Umegiku. On the occasion of Nichiren's birth, legend has it that lotus flowers bloomed on the seashore, a large number of red snapper gathered, and spring water gushed out into the yard of the house. These places are now preserved as Renge-ga-fuchi, Tae-no-ura, and Tanjo-ido. The entrance gate is particularly grand. There are gift shops adjacent to the temple where you can purchase local delicacies mostly fish products.

Tainoura is the sea in front of Amatsu-Kominato, a part of Kamogawa City since 2005. Fishing is banned in Tainoura. Amatsu-Kominato is where the founder of the Buddhist Nichiren sect was born. Legend says thyat when Nichiren was born breams danced in the sea, and ever since the local fishermen gave up fishing in the area. The sea bottom is only ten to twenty meters deep and it is uncommon for breams which tend to live in deeper waters to habituate in such shallow water. This was the first time to explore in detail including a cruise. It's quite a spectacle to see breams grouping as well as the small Islands and the shoreline.

About thirty minutes' drive inland from Amatsu-Kominato brings you to this sacred temple of the Nichiren Buddhist sect founded by Nichiren. It is located on Mount Kiyosumi which rises to about three hundred fifty meters above sea level. It is set beautifully in the mountain forest. One can understand why Nichiren developed his teaching here. You should also take a walk up to the top of the mountain. This is a popular place to greet the first sunrise of the year.
