Vivaldi Park Ocean World

Going to Vivaldi Park from Seoul take less than 2 hours but the traffic jam can be bad and take much longer time.
The lack of signs in English and the staff can't speak English is a problem. Here I am reviewing the water park which has an Egyptian theme. We pay our entrance fees and get an access no. like a watch to wear on our hand for lockers and various payments. We put our shoes in the shoes locker and will be separated into male and female sections. So if you want to meet your partner, tell them to meet at the children pools or fish spa in let say about 20mins. You can rent all sort of swimming gears, enjoy the fish spa, buy burgers and refreshment by swiping your locker no. and pay when you exit.
After meeting my partners, we went to the outdoor park, passed the herbal fragrance pools, sauna pools and into the big slide. Have great fun here. I was looking for the natural hot spring and could not find one, I could have missed an entrance into the natural hot spring or is this just a water park with "hotwater"? Correct me if I am wrong! We used the various pools, and later go to the indoor or children pools for the waves pool, cold big splash and massage pool.
After that we went our separate way, I went to the female jjimjilbang. striped and enjoyed the mint, pomegranate fragrance hot pool. I can't stay longer as much as I wanted to, went to the shower area to shower, next to the dressing rooms, there are hair dryers, comb, hair gel, body gel and plastic bag for your wet suit.
The water park is clean and life guards everywhere .

Modern architecture mixed with divine life. Unfortunately we went in the end of winter so we couldn't see the flowers. There is a cafeteria and we were hosted an official dinner it was splendid.

We visited korea last month and Nami Island was one of the attraction the tourist guide was telling us on our first day..Nami Island was famous because of the korean drama Winter Sonata.I did browse the internet and truly it was beautiful.Unfortunately it was winter when we visited the place so i did not expect so much. The river was frozen and there were diggings due to ice.I guess spring would be better.Overall, the place was nice.We stayed there for an hour and took the time to enjoy the coolness and the fresh air Nami could offer.

Fun to ride the rail bike and get to see the scenic views of the countryside. It was a leisure self peddle ride and we did not find it to be tiring.
The activity had a 40mins self peddle ride before stopping for a brief stop and transferring to a 15mins train ride. At the end of the ride, a short walk to the shuttle bus to take us back to the entrance. Total time 1.5 hours.
Probably the only cons is to have to wait for slow 'riders' who clog up the track in front of you :)
Overall, we would recommend this activity as part of the day visit to Nami island.
To get to this place, you will need to take the ITX-Cheongchun express train to gapyeong station and transfer over to the normal train on the opposite platform. Do remember to tap your Tmoney card on the transfer machine. Stop at Gimyujeong statntion.

Registration was slightly chaotic, but overall was a great first time experience!
Went for a half day snowboarding lesson with a very patient Australian instructor!
Snow was nice & as we went early into the season, the crowd was still considerably accepted with sufficient space for learning & falling...
There's free return shuttle service from Seoul which is friendly for me who's not with a tour group/day tripper package and save some cost in terms of transportation.
Do head up the café at the top, for a nice cuppa coffee / hot chocolate after many hours in the snow!

From Chuncheon Station, take Bus No. 63 and get off at Chuncheon's Myeong-dong (approx. 10 min). When you see the chicken statue and the smell of dalkgalbi, you are in the right place.
Food and Price: Most of the restaurants have a price of between 10,000-11,000KRW for 300 grams Dalkgalbi. The taste is good. You must try this dalkgalbi when you are in this area because this is their representative dish.

Hongcheon Ginkgo Forest

Reviewed By yipjcs88 - Hong Kong, China

Hongcheon ginkgo forest is a hidden gem because it is not open to the public except in the first 3 weeks of Oct. (approx. period) when the ginkgo trees turn into a beautiful yellow colour. The map coordinates are: 37°41'49.0"N 127°53'19.3"E and one has to join a local tour (in Seoul) to go there, as it is quite remote (3-4 hours drive from Seoul city). I went there in early Oct. and only the rear part of the forest has turned yellow. Nevertheless it was a great place to visit.
The ginkgo forest which had been strictly closed to the public for 25 years starting in 1985, has been allowing free admission during a designated 20-day period in October. Located at the far eastern end of Hongcheon County, the ginkgo forest is lined with around 2,000 ginkgo trees planted at intervals of 5 metres. In Oct., the ginkgo leaves turn yellow and create an unforgettable scene. Near the ginkgo tree forest, visitors can try local specialties sold by local residents.
The best time to visit the ginkgo forest is mid Oct. This forest is probably the best place to see ginkgo trees in S. Korea.

I came to Korea with my fiancé from HK and we were very excited to see snow and learn skiing for the first time- we were not disappointed! The JSKI staff were really helpful collecting us from a free foreigners shuttle bus from Seoul then helping us get all our equipment ready even before the lesson. Skiing is definitely harder than it looks but a lot of fun. We are already trying to book to come back next year!
