Cley Marshes is the oldest Wildlife Trust nature reserve in the country having been purchased in 1926 to be held "in perpetuity as a bird breeding sanctuary". Today Cley Marshes is one of the country's most popular birdwatching sites, attracting over 110,000 visitors each year. The award winning centre was opened in 2007 and features interactive interpretation, regularly changing Exhibitions and a well stocked gift and book shop. There is also a large cafe which serves tasty local produce and offers panoramic views over the marshes and coastline. 2015 Has seen the opening of the new Simon Aspinall Wildlife Education Centre, which provides a fascinating and informative mix of interactive interpretation, Exhibitions, events, activities and education programme.
When in Norfolk birding this place is a must, we have visited several times over the years and the centre facilities just seem to improve without intrusion into the coast and countryside. We been with a warming coffee and very tasty Bacon Bap, we also finished the list with coffee and cake. In between was a glorious walk, a few birds and fantastic scenery. see you all again.

Exceptional collection of military vehicles and weapons. However, it’s much more than that.
There is a section about the original military camp which I found fascinating.
The guide stated allow three hours for a visit. It took much longer than that !!
So much to see and everything well labelled.
Plus there is the bonus of the restaurant which is spotlessly clean, has an extensive menu to chose from and super friendly service.
A great day out!!

A very special Wildlife Garden, Café, Nursery and Nature Reserve tucked away in the magical Glaven Valley. Re-opened for 2011 under new, friendly ownership. A wonderful place for families, a peaceful, inspiring place for everyone.Old and new friends will find a warm welcome our Little Café in the Woods, offering home-made soup and cakes, teas and snacks and freshly-brewed top quality coffee.Nature trails and activities for all the family, an unusual and interesting shop and a unique range of wild flower and cottage garden plants for sale. Free entrance to Café and shop, small charge for grounds and reserve. Find us just south of Glandford, our brown signs say 'Wildflower Centre'.
Friends recommended this place and we had intended to walk from Blakeney but the weather was dreadful. A lovely little cafe in the woods. We would loved to have walked the trails and paths and seen the wildlife. Maybe next time!

Wasn't expecting a massive collection of things but this small museum was a waste of time staff was ok apart from a female attendant who kept putting the same movie clips on and turning the anti air craft fun trainer off because it was to noisy then why advertise come have ago how many times do the same group of people want to watch the same film over and over felt like she didn't want children in there our children love history and learning about world war 1 and 2 but they didn't enjoy this at all and I feel like I wasted my money only up side was Bonham priory just up the road fantastic ruins and free

A little bit difficult to find, driving along narrow lanes with minimal signage. Still when you arrive, it's very remote and therefore quiet. It's completely free to visit and park there. The site was very well presented. There's a few boards with information, giving you the story of the site and family who it belonged too. It's quite a picturesque site and would be suitable for a picnic. Definitely worth seeking out, if nearby. Should keep you entertained for half an hour or so.

Whilst visiting the lovely Cley Marshes it is a must to visit this unique church. Be amazed at why this huge Cathedral like church has such a small tower! The church was extended in the 14th century because it wasn't big enough because of the Hanseatic trading and visitors to the area. Marvel at the wonderful masonry work, the beautiful enormous doors, the unusual pew ends, the original 15 th century stain glass, the shields of the many wealthy families that supported the church, the sedilia, marvel at the many ogee carved windows to name some things of immense interest in this hidden church. Really worth a visit but not to be rushed. One of my favourite churches I've ever visited!

Never seen such stunning colours - this garden is not widely advertised and we only found it through a fellow B&B guest - its only open on certain days in May but well worth the visit - I will def be back

We spent some considerable time here and were blessed with lovely weather. The Visitor Centre is large, very welcoming and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Plenty of free parking which is a bonus.
We started in the cafe which had stunning views across the marshes. Plenty of wildlife to be seen whilst sipping a cuppa and binoculars are provided for visitors to use. A nice touch.
A good exhibition centre and all areas in the Centre accessible for those in wheelchairs.
I walked around the reserve and saw many different species of birds but sadly not the elusive bittern!
A wonderful place to be. An oasis of calm.

The Antiques & Interiors Centre opened on the 2nd May in Holt. Shoppers will find antiques, interior decor, furniture, collectables, french, vintage and industrial items. Located 2 minutes from the historic Georgian town centre of Holt in North Norfolk, the big barn at Candlestick Lane, Thornage Road, Holt, NR25 6SU is now an exciting new antiques and interiors centre. Many dealers of vintage, antique and interior furnishers/designers have already taken a section in our new centre, which has filled up rapidly with a wonderful range of items.
Holt is just a short drive from the coast, so a lovely place to visit on wet and windy days! just off the beaten track is the Antiques centre. There is a feeling that you are truly discovering hidden treasures as you walk around.
Sadly, the actual track to the centre is so pot holed and uneven that a low slung car would be at risk of damage and one has to consider the integrity of one's shoes and ankles!!

We dropped in here today to find out about picture hanging systems and the gentleman in residence suggested a couple of websites that might be useful for us. Some super paintings hanging on the walls of the Gallery but a little outside our price range. Nice to browse though.,they did have some good second-hand art books though at reasonable prices.
