We thought we would finish in Santiago de Compostela, then we thought we would finish in Finisterre but it wasn't. Yes the zero km marker is here, and yes many people who walk to SDC continue to Finisterre. Yes the certificate from the Xunta Albergue is once to add to the collection. But we have the bug so we kept going to Muxia and back to SDC.

If you ever have the chance to visit the amazing waterfall in Ézaro, don't miss it! It's a magical place, steps away from the sea. I highly recommend it!

This is a beautiful natural spot, a few kilometres from the neighbouring town, considered since the Roman times the most western point in the Peninsula -even though that´s not actually true-. Despite not being that belief very accurate, the place is really beautiful although not exceptional, especially if that day the weather is ok. Otherwise I don´t think it´s worth going as the views are the main attractive. Of course, it´s a quite touristy with lots of people strolling around, many of them in flip flops. I found that a bit strange: of course the place is not kept in a wild conditions, but, unavoidably, there are slopes and small rocky areas everywhere, so I think that wearing a pair of good sneakers at least is almost a must, instead of those slippery and unsafe flip flops. Besides the light-house, the cafeteria-restaurant and the parking lot there are no additional facilities. So, once you´ve enjoyed the views, which are best at sunset, strolled around the cliffs or taken your photos, there´s little more to do.

Certainly an unusual occurrence and worth a visit especially if you are in the area and ideally after rain when the volume of water increases and makes it more specacular.

Beautiful beach and the walk through the rocks in order to get there from finisterra was even nicer! Sandy beach, clean, full of sea shells and it was wonderful to hear the sound of the waves crashing into the sea shells. Very memorable walk there as well as our time at the beach.

This is where some pilgrims go to extend their "El Camino" pilgrimage. It's a bit of a hike upward to reach the beautiful cliffs overlooking the Atlantic. Once there you can hike all over the cliffs rocks, but you cannot go down to the sea - too high and no trail. It's a bit touristy as you enter the area, and parking seems to need some sort of payment, but we couldn't find where. Local folks tell me that the addition of El Camino from Santiago de Compostela to here was a tourist ploy. Also, some tradition has it that the pilgrim's clothes would be burned here. Burning stuff here has become a problem, and is now banned, although some burning still seems to go on.

While in Cee it was worthwhile visiting the falls at Ezaro. The drive along the coast was amazing and then the falls. We drove up to the lookout point above the falls for a spectacular view over the coast and beyond. I found some frogs in a small pond along with lots of tadpoles. Nature at its best.

After walking for 4 days from Santiago and not having had the chance to come here after our previous Camino walks the expectation was great. It is quite emotional arriving here at the Lighthouse and a spiritual experience facing the fact that this really is the end of the road (if not the World as we all now know!)
We took our time to dwell here and ponder the amazing scenery and the setting.
The Camino Finisterre is seen by some as being a lesser Camino but they are totally wrong as for what it may lack in quantity ie distance it more than makes up for in quality.

This is the third time we have taken the sunset cruise - it is such a joy. We always try and bring visitors and it (you need a clear sky) and they always rave about it. The Capitan Oliver - ably assisted by Estephan and...MoreThank you very much!! Regards!!
