Daejeon (Korean: [tɛ̝.dʑʌn] ( listen)) is South Korea's fifth-largest metropolis. Daejeon had a population of over 1.5 million in 2010. Located in the central region of South Korea, Daejeon serves as a hub of transportation and is at the crossroads of major transport routes. The capital Seoul is about 50 minutes away by KTX high-speed train.

Beautiful place to wonder and explore. Perfect afternoon out.
Photographers paradise. Peaceful and packed with great views and beauty to view and appreciate.
Wish I could have spent a larger amount of time there. Easily could spend hours on end slowly wandering around and experiencing all the park contains.
Great to see if enjoyed by people of all ages and all walks of life. We bumped into many school groups enjoying the park on school trips.

This review is specifically for the outdoor foot spa Hot Springs just south of the spa at the hotel. The hotel is nice but separates everyone by gender and not free, though inexpensive.
The foot spa Hot Springs is outside and free, and obviously just for feet. Apparently full of great minerals for healing powers. It's in a quaint area of town, accessible by bus and subway, and surrounded by great restaurants. The Springs is long, covers a block or so, has rinsing and drying stations, pretty greenery and statues, and is covered overhead, and walled in by stones where you can sit and dip your feet. It really helped our feet after a long day of walking.

O-world is a small theme park located in south of Daejeon, including zoo(Not big, but enough space to walk around 1~2 hours). It's very easy to get there, because it's close to city-center. I know, it's smaller than like Lotte-world in Seoul or Seoul-land in Seoul, but this place is for local citizens. Taking a day on holiday or weekends, this place will 'cure' you. One more, it costs about $10 to just enter(including park and zoo), $25 including every service. It has a couple of restaurants inside, but tastes bad and expensive. Don't forget to bring a picnic-basket!

I thought for ₩10,000 the art museum would be larger, but there were only four rooms (unless I really missed something). Definitely combine visiting this museum with touring the Hanbat Arboretum, which is right next door. The current display at the museum is hyper-realism, which was very interesting. Just wish there had been more...

1) In most cases people trevel to Daejeon after Seoul or Incheon. If you are going to use metro more than once use T-money card — it's universal transportation card in Korea. You can get it in a vending machine in Daejeon, Seoul or Incheon airport. Put money on a card and pay for metro on entrance.
2) Generally you can return any ticket and get refund! Don't drop even used single ride ticket. Use deposit refund machines that are usually situated near vending machines. But in Daejeon I haven't seen them (but I think they exist). In any cases, you can drop your T-card on your way back to Incheon.
3) Average waiting time between train is 10 min at daytime.
4) Watch for special pink seats for pregnant women. )
5) WC in a stations.
6) Elevators.

Despite the street does not have an extraordinary selection of shops to offer, it is interesting to have the ceiling covered with such a long and big screen. Sometimes you can see planets and sky, sometimes you can see yourself as there are many webcams all around. It is interesting experience, might even be considered as a sneak peak to a possible future. There are many shops in the street and sub alleys too. Delicious food, some small shops and fast food too.

There was many exhibits which you can see the history of money. International monetary, anti-counterfeiting technology and the production process can be seen there. Unfortunately, there is not different with exhibits of five years ago. Museum's souvenir shop was not interesting because there was not much to buy.

I went during the chrysanthemum craze. Gorgeous and creative displays, lively people, a perfect blend of natural beauty and odd sculptures. The park has pagodas, Bridges, chickens, snack stands, and more. Go for the unique statues and sculptures blended with the flowers.

This museum has geological samples including fossils and minerals as well as dinosaurs. It has displays on earthquakes and on evolution. The presentations are very well put together. If you have time, take a walk along the adjacent path by the Tandong Stream (recent project to clean the area), it is beautiful. When we visited on a Sunday there were many families with children of all ages enjoying it. The museum is closed on Mondays; open 10 am - 5 pm on Tues. - Sat. Entrance is free. My friends and I went to Uam historical park which is located near Wosoong University. We bought mats from daiso (₩3,000 each) and bought some drinks and snacks from Homeplus....and we were ready for the picnic.
The park welcomes anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful nature. It's for free. No entrance fee. ♡
Uam park is good for exploring and taking good photos and creating good memories with friends.
