The Slim Dusty Centre, in Slim's hometown of Kempsey, is a multi purpose cultural facility. The Museum exhibition features objects and images from the Kirkpatrick family's own extensive archive, as well as contributions from fans and friends all over the world. Visually rich, astonshingly varied, the display provides a look into Slim's first steps into show business. The early years of adventures with Joy, family and their mates, touring the towns and villages of Australia's Outback showcasing Old Purple with Slim and Joy's last touring caravan. Be sure to try our specially formulated "Homewood" blend of cofee and delcious treats from Dusty's Dinner Camp Cafe open daily 9.30am - 3pm.
Along the M1 Pacific Highway North Coast Area take the Kempsey turn off and be surprised by the Slim Dusty Centre. A beautiful building that surprises you from the moment you walk inside, beautiful café food and friendly helpful staff and local volunteers able to direct you easily through the many areas of the centre. Kempsey was not happy with the initial plans to build such a place and the money and time it took to complete was lots and lengthy but the end result is a timeless museum to a legend that was from Nulla Nulla west of Kempsey and lived a happy life of travelling and singing. Do call in!

Slides, blast bags, trampolines, swings, challenge tracks, balance beams, wobble pads and chill out areas are just a few of the many and varied features enclosed within the extensive walkways and floating tracks of the course. On shore we have extensive shade structures, BBQ areas that require $1 coins to operate, change rooms, picnic benches and sunloungers.
My son recently had his 9th birthday party at Stoney Aqua Park. In his words, “Best birthday EVER!” The life jackets were supplied along with a repeated safety information through the PA system. I was a bit nervous about kids and water but there were plenty of life guards on and around the course. Although there was no discount for a group booking my son received a free pass for the next time we visit. Which we will and I will go in too. There are bbqs, amenities, a kiosk, a little kids play area, lots of shaded Seating areas and plenty of parking. What a great asset to our beautiful part of Australia. Can’t wait to wear myself out when we return.

crescent head country club was the choice for birthday celebrations with kids and adults, the food was very hot and well presented, reasonably priced, with a buffet for vegetables and salads, so as much or little you could help yourself too, the Friday night we were there it was raffle night, so early to find a seat as the club was packed out in all the rooms, they also had a well stocked bar and games areas with televisions for 3 or more sports to watch and a pool table, kids play area, loos were nice and clean, parking a little tight but when you know were to go its ok

The world's first hospital dedicated to these creatures.
The majority of the injured Koalas are housed behind dark screens so that they're not disturbed and human interaction with them is kept to a minimum.
There are some long term resident Koalas here that aren't behind cover and can be seen going about their normal routines (sleeping, eating and more sleeping).
This is the only place (that I'm aware of) that specialises in rescuing and rehabilitating sick and injured Koalas.
Everyone here is a volunteer and there isn't any Government funding, so please give what you can to help support the work being done here.
There isn't an entry charge, so please donate or buy some souvenirs at the gift shop to assist funding the ongoing operation of this facility.

This kinda explains this area, we walked this national park and in the first day we saw flying foxes, a 5ft Goanna, heard the noise of thousands of frogs, some roos, from the park we also saw whales and dolphins! Not to mention the river where you can see lots of fish. Amazing area and not at all crowded!

We really enjoyed the lighthouse. The views are phenomenal and the nearby trails are quite nice. The walk from the car park to the lighthouse would be a bit tough for a less fit person or a wheelchair. We loved it.

I had never wake-boarded before when I visited Port Macquarie at the beginning of the year. There were six of us on the boat including Greg, the owner. It took me a few attempts to get out of the water and onto the board, but Greg is a great teacher and a real pro. So I managed and absolutely loved it. We had great fun on Greg's fancy speed boat, taking turns boarding and otherwise just enjoying a lush afternoon on the beautiful Wilson river. Highly recommended!

HELLO KOALAS SCULPTURE TRAIL, PORT MACQUARIE Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail is a fun and entertaining day out for people of all ages. There are over 56 one metre high fibreglass koala sculptures, dotted across the Port Macquarie-Hastings region, from the Mountains to the sea. The hand painted and mosaic sculptures have been created by selected artists and offer a dazzling display of original artwork. Hello Koalas is a bold, ambitious and imaginative sculpture project, which celebrates one of Australia's iconic animals - the Koala. Above all, it is designed to generate a sense of fun and surprise for everyone who comes across one of the creatively decorated koalas resting in parkland, lazing by the river, waiting outside the shops, or playing with children. The Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail Guide is available at most Tourism outlets, including the Visitor Information Centre at the Glasshouse in Clarence Street, in Port Macquarie's CBD or you can download a pdf online before you arrive. The Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail is not owned by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council. The Trail is run by a private family company and the Hello Koalas sculptures are sponsored by local businesses and organisations to enable the Trail to be a free and fun experience for all ages.
We were just staying in Port for a couple of days, but stumbled across the trail. We only spotted a few in the town centre area but they were beautifully decorated. A good way of wandering around catching the sights.
