This library is located in the center of Bassano where Napoleon lived in his time. The building is old, tentuta well and full of books for all ages. From the first step inside the library you can see various rooms, each contains books by category, from children to literature, with many language books.

this small museum was very interesting as Mount Grappa was a very important WW1 Battle and this was where the Alpinis were fighting so at this particular museum go see crests and emblems and also the gas-masks and different historical uniforms, boots, and snow-shoes as the Mountains are all around Northern Italy. The Alpinis are a group that now help during natural disasters such as terremotos (earthquakes) and mountain rescues.

This marvelous bridge made in wood, named Ponte Degli Alpini, is dated from 1209, although it was rebuilt some times along the centuries. It is also called Ponte Vecchio, and the view one can enjoy from it, over the Brenta river and facing the Alpes during the Winter, is simply great !
One of the main attractions in Bassano. Bridge itself is really nice, espcecially if you imagine when it was built. But I loved the view from the bridge to the river. It's so clear that you can see the trouts going up to the Mountains :)
View of the Mountains is also spectatular.
Anyway nice place to go if you are in Bassano

Welcome to the Museum of the most Italian of spirits: Grappa. Not far from Venice, at the foot of Monte Grappa, lies the enchanting town of Bassano del Grappa, the "capital" of the very Italian distillate: Grappa. In the heart of the town, opposite the historic Ponte Vecchio, in the old "Palazzo delle Teste", is the Poli Grappa Museum. The Poli Grappa Museum, the result of a long and passionate research, the Museum was created by the Poli Family in appreciation of Grappa. The Museum consists of five suggestive rooms and visits are self-guided.
The restaurant we had lunch in recommended Poli and we went to explore. The interior is beautiful and the staff knowledgeable. Of course we bought several bottles which are beautifully packaged for travellers.

Another square in the center of Bassano, from here you can easily go on Via Roma, where there are lots of nice shops. But even in Freedom Square there are nice local and many nice little shops!

Passing this way you can see the many trees decorated by plates that recall the martyrs hanged during World War II by the Germans. The landscape is very beautiful and very nice.

Our craft workshop opens on 1 May 2010 and our "union" is not born only for the needs of the activities but from birth: we are two sisters. The passion for the quality food is part of our lives always in fact we are both diplomate to hotel school but an ingredient is very important for us, is the passion we put into choose, do, seek the best raw materials in order to have a better ice cream. We constantly update courses to learn how to make the best use of the raw material, to keep up with the ongoing changes, in order to satisfy their customers in the best of ways. IN A FEW WORDS OF OUR WORK AND OUR PASSION. Thanks
About 10 years ago I went with friends to see the Operas at Verona an we stayed in the beautiful town of Bassano del Grappa from where the Grappa liquer is produced.
This town took my breath away, dating from the medieval time it came under the rule of the Serinissio of Venice. It still has the old town walls surrounding it's perimetors You go through the wall gates , along a short piece of street into a beautiful square where you will see beautiful original wall paintings of figures whiich have been protected by the wide roofs overlaps of the old buildings
Walk down to the river and you can see a covered bridge where a lot of Italian soldiers were excuted during the last war and they are commerated there, it is very touching.
You can talke a tour of where the delicious Grappa liquer is made and have a taste.
The Icecream in Bassano is delicious and one is overwhelmed for choice.
There are plenty of good places to eat the delicious Italien food.
If you go to Venice and have a day to spare it is only less than an hour by train but don't forget to validate your train ticket in the machine as you go onto the platform
We actually stayed in the town both times we went to see the Opera in Verona. I can't remember the hotel just ouside the walls but it was excellent.
