We went here with the hole family with 3 kids from 2 to 13 years old. The zoo is really family friendly lots of space and lots of cute animals. The kids loved the animals, all animals was very lively and several times they came all up to the fence and wanted to "talk". Many of the bigger animals like horses and cows comes up and let the kids pet them.
We where a little disappointed of several reasons but overall it was a good trip. The disappointed points was, The zoo is rather small, taking the price of the entrance in a count the park is to small it is to fast to get through it. While we was there they was cutting the grass with a very noisy brush cutter, I don't understand why they are not doing that when the zoo is closed. Last negative thing was that the ice cream shop was closed. Major disappointment for the kids.

On the edge of the Lammefjord you can find this small church in an otherwise insignificant area. The dense medieval interiors makes a calm yet loaded architecture worth dwelling in.
You can find a medieval roman granite Baptistery, a renaissance altarpiece and pulpit, and frescoes of ancient knights on the walls.
But the main attraction is the atmosphere that will easily make you soar for hours.

Terrific historic manor house from the 1300's. Great to visit or stay and make sure you eat there. Again with the 50 character rule.

Situated off the beaten path in a pretty, rustic landscape, this former residence of the Swane family artists (painters, a photographer, etc.) is one of the best sights in the Western Zealand region, overall less visited by foreign tourists than the Northern Zealand area. The house and the lush Gardens comprise several buildings and sections. There´s a modest, inexpensive cafe and bookshop too, with a possibility to sit in the courtyard. The furnished rooms are quite comprehensive, original, and partly decorated with paintings and art works.
IMO you need a couple of hours to really take in this lovely place. It´s possible to do some picnic too.
Definitely worth even a large detour, even if combining with the Odden ferry trip to/from Jutland, and on the quality level of more well-known Danish art historical sights. The unspoilt setting adds to the feeling of Danish rural authenticity.
A bit difficult to reach by public transport, though, if you don´t have your own vehicle. Use the rejseplanen.dk website for public transport, insert the street address there, and expect 15 mins walking to and from the bus stop.
Or combine with a rented bicycle, maybe with the train, and tour the area. For instance, the road along the Isefjord from Plejerup/Malergården up to Nykøbing is pretty. Grevinge is the nearest train station, Holbæk isn´t so far either.
The Odsherred area has had quite a lot of artist residents in the 20th century, as seen also at the local art museum, Odsherreds Kunstmuseum, in Asnæs town. "Malergården" is a branch of this museum, cf. their website. Unfortunately, it seems that information in English isn´t available yet, but I guess it will eventually be provided.

good atmosphere, many side activities. Good course, can be played by kids and adults and still be a good game. Play 9 or 18 hols or have a break at the 9th.

This beach features white sand, dunes, clear water that is very children friendly. There is even a lifeguard on duty, a place to eat and get ice-cream and good parking. If you prefer more isolated, just walk 5minutes and you are almost alone. Great place.
The best way to stay here is to rent a summerhouse in the area.

4000 sqm antique and lifestyle market Denmark's largest market where quality and nostalgia are at the forefront. with 4000 sqm. Is there always something for everyone.
Kæmpe genbrugsbutik, Et rigtig godt sted lidt uden for Københavm, med et stort udvalg småting og masser af brugte møbler.
Det er bestemt et besøg værd, meget fornuftige priser og venlig betjening.

The wall painting of St George and the Dragon is clearly recognisable so many centuries later. Externally the church is typical of the local style with brick stepped gables.
Wikipedia's entry for this church deals with the issue of the wall-paintings well. People write of restoration, but the paintings have only lasted so long because they were covered up by "limewash". I just wonder whether renovation might be a more accurate word.
That said, a lovely way to spend a quiet hour in the quiet, rural community of Hojby.
