This waterfall is easy reachable from Weesen on the Walensee. You can drive and park your car near restaurant Lago Mio and walk further towards the waterfall. It takes about 1 - 1.5 hours to reach it. The walk along the lake is beautiful. Passing clifs and going through tunnels. Reaching the village of Betlis, the road goes up a bit. You see the waterfall from far away. The last 10 minutes you walk through the woods and you here it quite good. You just walk upon it and then the woods open up and you see it.
There are 3 Waterfalls coming together to one. This has to do with the cavesystem, where the water runs in different channels to where they come out of the Mountains and we can see them. The total fall of the water is almost 600 meters, with the middle one meassuring 305 meters as one of the biggest freefalling Waterfalls in Europe.

From bitter cocoa beans sourced in a faraway rainforest to deliciously sweet work of art: the Chocolate Experience is a journey of discovery for young and old through the fascinating processes that make high-quality Laderach chocolate. GUIDED TOURS only on demand.
This is a fabulous place for everyone, young and old...you can always find a piece of chocolate for yourself :) We always bring friends here whenever they visit us, of course, we also just drive here without any reasons other than for some yummy schoggi at factory prices. And once you've experienced the Chocolate Experience, you will not really want to have any others ;)

The Freuler palace was completed in 1648 as a residence of a commander of the French guards, Kaspar Freuler. There are extremely beautiful rooms which can be visited.
The Museum of the canton of Glarus is now in this huge palace and there is a lot to see about the history of this canton, about immigration and emigration, the Landsgemeinde (basic democracy), textile printing, the old laws (which were very modern at their time) and in an annex one can see expositions about military and defense and alpine sports.
Over all this is a great museum not far away from the railway station.

Well worth going to Paxmal - It is a good hike up to it in the winter through the snow but well worth it for the views along the way - we took sledges with us for going back down which in itself was worth the hike up. This is one not to be missed

Eure Andrea

A fence made of metal flutes and a woodpecker that pecks a drum roll – on the Toggenburg Sound Trail (Klangweg), you can play these unusual instruments and compose your own music. The sounds optimally come to life in the quiet surroundings of Toggenburg. Together with the bell-ringing of grazing cows and the birdsongs, this creates a harmonious whole. You can walk on the Sound Trail from the start of June to the end of October (some sections are accessible for people with disabilities) and suited for all age groups. Please observe the operating times of both mountain cableways since there are a few days when they are not identical with the accessibility of the Sound Trail.
This is a great walk for family with small children. It is all flat and dotted with some educational musical games. The scenery is pretty without being amazing. It is not the right walk for people who look for something more, like spectacular view, challenging hiking experience.

INTERSPORT Walensee is specialized in selling and renting modern sports articles. The beautiful sports shop is located directly on the shores of the Lake of Walensee in the holiday resort Walensee. The train station Unterterzen is only a few steps away. There is a wide range of facilities available in summer and winter time.
We stayed at the resort so hiring here was easy. The staff spoke good English, tolerated our highly active children, and did everything we needed. We rented Skis, boots, sticks and helmets. We booked some lessons, and got our ski passes all at the same place. I liked that they saved us money on our ski passes by clever use of part days to suit our actual requirements compared to what I initially asked for. My wife and I both brought our boots back part way through our trip get them changed (my wife smaller, mine wider) and this was done with no fuss at all. I would happily use them again.

It is a cable car to the mount Säntis, another spectacle like many similar ones in Switzerland.
The ride takes 10min, you'll be able to make a number of fantastic photos.
There is free wifi, two restaurants (one of which self-service) and a great Terrace, where the majestic view can be enjoyed in full!
There is also room for exhibits on the main hall and also on the mezzanine, right by the gift shop.
If planning to do some trekking from there, please check the weather forecast with precision in advance, or else you'd have to replan your day, like we had to because of the clouds and drizzle...

The Sound Forge Alt St. Johann is a project of the Toggenburg World of Sound (KlangWelt Toggenburg). In addition to a forging workshop, it houses exhibition and course rooms in which it is possible to experience sound. The Toggenburg World of Sound business office is also located here. Opened in 2011, this building was originally a mill and belonged to the Alt St.Johann monastery.
