Zugdidi (Georgian: ზუგდიდი; Mingrelian: ზუგდიდი or ზუგიდი) is a city in the Western Georgian historical province of Samegrelo (Mingrelia). It is situated in the north-west of that province. The city is located 318 kilometres west of Tbilisi, 30 km from the Black Sea coast and 30 km from the Egrisi Range, at an elevation of 100–110 metres above sea level. Zugdidi is the capital of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, which combines Samegrelo (Mingrelia) and upper part of Svaneti, and the center of the Zugdidi Municipality within.

I visited Coffee Boom with a group of friends, after we left the Dadiani Palace. We got iced coffee, which was served quickly and was good.
The interior is original and tastefully decorated, it's really cozy. There was outdoor Seating too, but since it was hellishly hot, we chose to stay inside.

The food is simply marvellous. Otherwise a rather standard Georgian restaurant with plenty of locals of all ages and tourists visiting. Good service and a wide variety of local dishes to choose from. Loud music and smoking can be a nuisance, but the food...

The place looks cosy. The service is almost not existing. Nobody cares about you. You have to run to find somebody who might like to serve you. Also, not recommended for non smoker!

The Taverna is located at one the lively and central streets of Zugdidi,in front of the oldest lyceum/School #1. You will taste delicious European foods cooked by German Chef in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Have been there just once during my short stay in Zugdidi.
Place has just couple of tables inside, about 5 or 6. They serve excellent home made dishes. Had bratwursts and beef on mashrooms in creamy souce, accompanied by freshly baked home made bread. Didn't expect anything special, but got into extasy.
German owner of the place produces top class sausages with love...
Also beef meal ordered by my colleague has disapeared almost immediatelly...
Probably doesn't make sence to continue with compliments.
At the end of my visit i bought as the take away one excellent 2kg bread, central European style, which reminds me home. Also asked for couple of bratwursts to take it with me, as intend to share such nice experience wih my wife.
Owner's wife brought for me a bottle of home made tomato souce for free, fiting nicely to bratwursts...
Thanks to such small business iur lifes get better, even in such forgotten part of the world...
THANK YOU!!!
