Estrella Fugaz is a terraced bar-restaurant behind Rinconcito beach where you can enjoy ocean views and the sounds of waves in a cozy, intimate atmosphere. We offer breakfast served with exotic natural fruit juices and great coffee, as well as a selected choice of Mexican, international and vegetarian cuisine for lunch and dinner. At sunset, our lounge is the perfect place to unwind whilst enjoying funky tunes and a refreshing cocktail or an ice-cold beer. I ordered the arrachera steak and should have asked the price ahead of time. It was over $20 but wasn't of good quality. The vegetables and mashed potato accompaniments were swimming in grease. The view of the beach is nice but really not worth the price.

Located at the west end of Zipolite, close to Alquimista beach, it's a small restaurant full of surprises, great food, excellent ambiance, beautiful decor, and the best quality in all the ingredients, always trying to make our costumers have a memorable dining experience.
We’ve eaten at this little charmer in all 3 of their locations, and will continue to seek them out. The food is excellent and we’d recommend having a reservation- if you arrive as they open you might get lucky but it really fills up.

I'll make this short and sweet. We have been coming here for years and the quality of the pizza is wonderful! Get the largest option and take the leftovers back if you have a fridge. There is hardly any difference in price between the two sizes. The drinks are also excellent. LOVE their Margaritas!!!

With two recommendations from locals as well as good reviews on here we decided we needed to check this place out for ourselves. It didn't disappoint. If you aren't starving you may even want to share your plate with a friend, partner or family member they are very generous portions. The drinks are well priced with choices such as beers or agua frescas in a variety of flavours. My only negative would be that my fish was overcooked so a little chewy but overall was so delicious that I had to pace myself to stop from eating it too fast.

Regulars visiting Zipolité know that nothing is a sure thing there. The restaurant fonctionned through some hard personnel problems (* it's a small place and family is important) which probably is the cause of some people posting disappointing reviews for last winter.
But through it all, the owner did her best to serve with quality what there was. The menu was sometimes more limited. My friend takes the gnocchi dish at every visit. Yes, it's smaller then the others, but all things considered, it probably has as many calories as the bigger spaghetti dishes! He never complained about the size of the portion.
This said, they had problems but it was still an excellent place to eat.
Their steak ( filet mignon) is one of the best in Zipolite

Located on the beach and on the main street of Zipolite Posada México Hotel & Restaurante offers breakfast from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 6 p.m. Come to our Italian / Mexican cuisine, appetizing dishes prepared with care with fresh products, enjoy our Tasty pizzas baked in the wood-fired oven and happy hour with delicious natural fruit cocktails from 2 pm till 10:30.
I don’t know why it is saying on trip advisor that they only open until 11am maybe it should be 11pm. Because they serve food the whole day. And everything is just delicious. They also have gluten free pasta, vegan options and of course vegetarian food. The view and the atmosphere is beautiful. The staff is really nice, quick and do speak English. Also it is run by a family which I think is really nice.
Totally recommend that place :)

Locals recommend this place on the beach for quality food at friendly prices and I can't argue with that. Large plates of food come with meat/seafood, salad, rice, and french fries. Burgers are large and good. Good guacamole. The fries could be improved on IMO, but it's not a deal-breaker.

On our third night in Zipolite we decided to finally go to the restaurant everyone had been recommending to us: El Alquimista.
We got there and the first impression was brilliant: beautiful scenery and romantic atmosphere.
That was the only good thing. We ordered some grilled meat which took ages to come out. The moment the meat arrived at our table three big black dogs surrounded our table and stayed there for the rest of the evening. The meat: well I was truly tempted to give it to the dogs; I didn't do it out of etiquette. The chicken breast was raw, the chorizo was super soft and kind of sweet and the rest of the meat was simply unremarkable. The salad looked several days old and the potatoes were marinated in a sauce that was not nice. Nobody came to try to do anything about the harassing dogs or asked us if everything was ok. We ate qickly and left the place a bit shocked, trying to understand how this place has so many good reviews.

We stayed in Zipolite for 10 days and this was hands down the best place for breakfast.
Great Mexican fare but also tasty bagels and strong cappuccinos.
Tucked away on a dirt road near the creek - half the fun is finding this place even when you know where you should be looking. It’s so hidden away!
Don’t be put off by the appearance from the entrance, inside it’s got a nice garden and great setting overall. Must try for Zipolite!
Warning - it is closed on Tuesday for breakfast.

Pizzeria & Vegetarian Food
Having spent a lifetime looking for good Chili Rellenos at every Mexican restaurant we find in the U.S or Canada this has been by far the ultimate best one. It came highly recommended by our local Mexican foodie friend from Puerto Angel. We had a Margarita thin crust pizza cooked in wood fired oven ,and the Rellenos with the house red sauce. Wow both were so delicious. The house red sauce had to be mopped up with the bread at the end to savor the last of it. It had this smoky flavor that came from the peppers used to make the sauce. The other interesting thing was the prices are so reasonable that we won't hesitate to return at every opportunity. The atmosphere is wonderful and artistic.
