My rating should be more like 3 1/2 if TA would allow. So, let me begin with the issues that reduced the rating from a 5.
First, 1/2 'point' because I waited for an excessive amount of time for my beer to arrive. It was ordered at the same time that the meal was ordered (because when the waitress asked about water earlier, I indicated I did not want any and she moved on before I could order a beer) and arrived quite close to the same time that the meal arrived. I would usually have 2 beers during such a meal, but I didn't finish my first one until about mid-entree.
Second: 3/4 point deduction.....There is a real management problem on this one, in my opinion, and in the opinion of many other people. When the bill is presented there are gratuity calculations at the bottom "for your convenience." First of all, they ignored the traditional 15%. Secondly, the $$ amounts were figured on the total bill, which included taxes. Again, everything I read and have known is that the tip is on the bill BEFORE taxes. Management needs to review their thinking on this one as I know of several people who will not be returning because of it. And, I figure my own tip regardless of what they suggest. And, because I am not at all in favor of the suggestion approach, there are times that it probably hurts the server when I evaluate the amount I want to tip when the service has been marginal only because they are trying to get me to tip more, to include on the tax. Yes, I know that that is my problem, but I am not alone.
The service was good, other than the arrival of the beer.
There were 6 of us and everyone was pleased with their food.
I would be happy to recommend the Friendly Tavern because of the quality of the food, but would temper my recommendation based on the above.

So, part of every vacation I take involves a culinary hunt for regional favorites. We heard about Hoosier pie...and had 2 failed attempts to find it in Indianapolis. So, my trip App suggested a My Sugar Pie about 20 minutes outside of downtown.
WOW!
So, if you have never had a Indiana Sugar pie...it's like...well...it's a combination...uhhh...I can't explain it.
But, it is the best pie I have ever eaten.
If there is one rub...they can't ship them to Pennsylvania.
I hope to come back

In its former location, this restaurant was my favorite. Cozy, great oyster bar (I love oysters), excellent food and good wait staff. Unfortunately, they had a fire and opened a new location, basically across the street. The new location has high ceilings and virtually no sound absorption. The result is excellent food and service in a very noisy environment. The last time I was there my date and I had trouble talking to each other over the ambient noise.

In this?age of so many "construct it yourself" ice cream places, I enjoyed the simplicity of an old fashion ice cream. Here the traditional flavors are available at a high quality rate. The servings are generous, so be ready.Thank you for appreciating The Scoop and enjoying real ice cream that is premium. We are striving to make a difference with every scoop we serve and changing lives a scoop at a time.

A Taste of Amish in Noblesville has fresh donuts trucked down on the days they are open from Rise-n-Roll Bakery in Middlebury Indiana. They have a drive and that is his job to bring down fresh donuts daily. So once they are gone, they are gone until the next open day. I tried an apple fritter and a peanut butter cream filled donut and they were delicious. They also have many flavorful good cookies and cinnamon rolls to choose from here. There's many more things here than pastries, so don't let that deter you. There is cheese, eggs, drinks etc. Stop in and give this place a chance. So good!

Just finished a delightful breakfast at this trendy cafe in old town Zionsville. An array of creatively conceived breakfast selections along with delightful surroundings and excellent service. Would most definitely drive an hour to visit here again. You won’t be able to leave without picking up a few bakery items at the register. My omelet was of the finest ingredients with a unique presentation. Loved the fresh brewed ice tea. A great find.

I don't normally go for Mexican food, but my husband loves it, so we decided to give this place a try. We went here with some friends and it was fantastic. I'd definitely go again. I had a quesadilla which was delicious.

This IS my favorite place to get truffles and I am particularly fond of their mini milk, raspberry and caramel truffles. They used to have a S'More truffle that I would gobble up, but unfortunately they stopped making it. I've been coming here since 1999 and usually get Christmas or Valentine's Day gifts here. Parking can be a pain and trying to get in and out during the afternoon on a weekend? Ugh. . . . But worth it if you can find a spot! They are closed on Sundays, so plan ahead if you know that you may need chocolate on that day. They also have cute extra things, like napkins and cards. And I believe that they do drinks, like hot chocolate, coffee and tea. Well worth the trip in.

The Loft serves a farm-fresh menu that incorporates our 100% grassfed beef and award-winning cheeses. Stop in for a delicious meal, the World's Best Organic Chili and top it off with a creamy Milk Shake, Smoothie, Ice Cream or Homemade Baked Goods.
came here with friends for a late Sunday lunch after a recent ice storm. Place was empty (due to roads I'm sure). Gabby was our friendly server, very helpful with menu selections. We choose a cheese tray to start, great presentation, tasty cheeses. everyone enjoyed their meals, i had a Mexican inspired dish on the brunch menu, was told after I ordered that it usually sells out, its that good.
Place is a bit on the pricy side, but very good food and service, I only hope that they pay their help accordingly.

I've tried this place twice now. The first time I thought their icing was good but the cake was dry. The last time I honestly couldn't bring myself put one in my mouth. When my husband and I walked in to pick up a couple to take home, there was only one girl working. They were closing in 45 minutes and she was putting up chairs and mopping the floor. She came back around the counter to take my husband's order. I thought, "Ok, now she will wash her hands". Nope! She never put on a pair of gloves, used some tongs, anything. She proceeded to plop 4 cupcakes into their box bare handed. The same ones she was just using to put chairs up and mop the floor with, IM OUT! Told her we were not buying those. I wonder, do you think she put them back into the case? I'm not going back to find out, I'll make my own at home. And I can promise it won't be at the same time that I am sweeping the floor or wiping down the counters with chemicals, YUCK!
