Reviews on Italian food in Zihuatanejo, Zihuatanejo de Azueta, Guerrero. While resorts continue to spring up, "Zihua" remains determined to maintain its small-town flavor. The brick-paved "fisherman's walk," a nod to the region's seafaring roots, stretches along the town center. Because the nightlife is mostly informal, Zihua is particularly appealing to couples and those seeking an escape from coastal party towns.

Went for dinner as the first tuna of the season was available. Started with mixed salads and the lentil soup. Both were good. For mains we all had the Peppercorn Tuna. Quickly seared, tender, cut in four slices, served with rice and veggies. Menu specifies a salad but if you can have either the salad or veggies. Only complaint is the tuna inner was cold, but this is the way they serve it. Washrooms basic and clean, credit cards accepted, excellent service.

Ate here with 7 family members. The pizza is very good, grandson had a burger which usually wouldn't recommend but he said it was really good. The kids kept ordering the fries which they were quite impressed with. Definitely an affordable place for any number of people to eat here. The service is also very good.

new fusion of Mexican cuisine with international cuisine, with local products .. fresh and organic live cooking and with quiet and private street atmosphere.
A new spot on the street. Friendly and accomodating staff interested in pleasing customers. Some foods prepared more or less at tableside. I had shrimp that were flamed in vodka with an alfredo sauce on my pasta . The sauce had a great flavor but it was way to runny and did not stick to pasta. It looked like the chef attempted to thin it out at the end of preparation and ruined it. My fiance enjoyed his pork chop that was grilled but was not fond of the mole sauce served with it but he is not much on âsaucesâ. You can sit along railing and watch pedestrians strolling up and down Adelitas in the evening which is pleasant. We will give this place another chance next year.Hola lamentamos mucho lo sucedido... Esperemos el otro año compraser su paladar..... y esperemos volverlos atender una disculpa del parte del chef y sus comentarios nos ayudan a mejorar

We made a reservation for last night and when we arrived we were greeted by the owner and shown to out table. He spent time visiting with us and joking. He then took time to explain changes to his menu and make suggestions. Never was he rude but very likeable. The drinks were great and the glasses of wine very generous, unlike some places in town. Everyone loved their meal except for the shrimp lasagna. It was a bit dry, with not enough sauce. Other than that the evening was perfect and we will return next season more than once.

Come and enjoy a romantic dinner, the best seafood and pastas with the best mediterranean recipes. A great atmosphere and service.
Augusto was our waiter, he is the best, he should come to Montréal and teach what customer service is. His smile, his passion and his enthusiasm is contagious and the wine and the food were amazing, so tasty, so refined. The site of the restaurant is great, on the beach, by the boardwalk. Large portions.

I've been coming to Zihuatanejo for over 20 years and never visited this restaurant. Been here 3 times this year. The wait staff are very professional. All the food has been great. The salad is wonderful. The wine is very reasonable. Great find. Don't know where my mind was for all these years.

Located, close to the beach, which makes it convenient for supper. Pizza choices are plentiful, and the end product is always good! Wood fired, clay oven cooked, maybe not quite thin crust, but very close. They have an upstairs, that overlooks the street, and is popular with small to med. groups. Staff is exceptional, always friendly, and courteous. Definitely one of our favourite pizza places!

the front as a bar , and tables for drinking or for lunch or super and also people watch, and also a garden in the back of the restaurant Mediterranean style open air .
Large menu, personal service and excellent food.We sat in the open air courtyard and the airflow was cooling. The courtyard itself is gorgeous.Caesar salad was great as was the tender crunchy calamari.Bouillabaisse was excellent, mussels were perfect; whole red snapper was perfectly cooked and tuna sashimi was like butter.Highly recommend and will return to the very romantic restaurant.

Good atmosphere with excellent location, nice italian music, outdoor tables with fans, tables inside with fans and romantic.
We took our Mexican friends here for their anniversary and none of us were disappointed in our excellent Italian cuisine. The bread served with cocktails could have been a little more dense and crusty like true Italian bread. Service was good and waiters spoke English making ordering easier for those who do not speak Spanish. Menu had a nice variety of offering, some pasta was homemade daily. The Caesar salad was very small and not outstanding. Consisted of whole leaves of roamine, maybe 4-5 sparesly scattered parmesan and not much dressing. No offer of anchovies. And it was the equivilant of $6.00. We would not order again. On our next visit I ordered the Mixed Salad and it was better but the serving was also small and I wouldnât order that again either for the cost. All entrees were excellent from the lasagna, ravioli and pasta. Every sauce that was tried was excellent and the servings were large enough that you were salisfied when finished. None of us ordered meat or fish entrees or desserts. Wine was expensive for a bottle of mid-quality chianti. You are better off ordering by the glass.

You can not beat the view from Il Mare overlooking the bay in Zihuatanejo. Crazy sunset looking up from the cliffs above and beyond downtown. Quaint and intimate almost all seats have an amazing view. We loved the Greek salad, the grilled calamari and the pasta Bolognese. So many other choices too. The boys enjoyed the frozen Lemon sorbet and the frozen lemon pie.
