Fantastic atmosphere during the "Mosselfeesten", absolute must-go when in Middelburg in the end of July. The "mosselwok" is definitely one of the best mussels I have ever come to eat. Not even mentioning the party afterwards in the evening, where I ended up in the cozy rooms, which are attached to the restaurant. Great brasserie with an edge in one of the buzzing streets of Middelburg!

We enjoyed every second of our dining experience at Gasterij Rubens! The view is outstanding and the food was incredible! We recommend the Ruben's Steak and Anouk's Springrolls. The waitress was detail oriented and very helpful. We look forward to our next visit and try out the boat picnic package.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal in der Brasserie van B. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und an einen schön eingedeckten Tisch geführt.Die Jakobsmuschel, als Gruss aus der Küche, war grossartig.An Vorspeisen hatten wir Schweinebäckchen, Rindertatar und eine sehr leckere Pastinakensuppe. Dazu warmes Sesambrot.Jede einzelne Vorspeise ein Genuss.An Hauptspeisen wählten wir : Lamm aus Zeeland, Kabeljau mit einer sehr leckeren überbackenen Kruste, Lengfisch ( dem Dorsch ähnlich ) und Risotto. Und auch hier gilt: Jedes einzelne Gericht ein Geschmackserlebnis.Den Abschluss machte eine Zitronentartalette, die so lecker war, daà dann plötzlich alle von der einen Portion abhaben wollten.Ein sehr schöner und genussvoller Abend. Mit sehr charmantem Service, der hervorragend deutsch spricht. Mit einem sehr sympathischen Inhaber und Koch, der es verdient, dass viele Gäste kommen.Wir werden es jedenfalls tun und können das Lokal nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Went here for dinner on a dreary February evening but the atmosphere and friendly staff made up for it. The service was great and the food good, wide selection of craft beers in bottle and draught. Also like the enclosed conservatory which feels like sitting outside but with proper heating.
