De Schelphoek ... tried to visit once without reservation and that didn't work - super filled up, so now after a day's sailing with a friend, we did make a reservation. Funnily enough now there were many tables available. No worries. The interior is a bit dated, it is not posh at all but we came to eat. We took a fish menu and that worked out very well. I think it was the month menu ... but when I look at their website now in early September, the month menu still boasts the Valentine menu of Februari, so their IT handling is lagging a bit :-).Anyway, the meal and service was, in our recollection, pretty good. We asked to make a few changes to the menu and even that was taken on board without hesitation. So all in all, a satisfying experience. Don't expect haute cuisine but after a day on the water or around the Dutch seaside, a good sit down, good solid tasty cooking and a nice atmosphere. Enough reasons to come back. Also they don't pretend to be something that they are not. Which is in today's world refreshing to find. Many restaurants out there put up a facade of exquisite experiences to drive up the prices, only to let the customer find out that they can't deliver. This is not the case with De Schelphoek. So a solid experience.
We were not satisfied. We wanted to grab a quick lunch to head to the nearby beach from there, but the waiter neglected the terrace, left old glasses and plates standing around, it took him 15 minutes to take our order and 45 more minutes to bring the food. Even though there were only two other guests there besides us! Food was average, my pasta was too cooked, not al dente at all. Next time we will eat directly at the beach, as there are two restaurants with very nice views which can be reached if you walk up the dunes towards the beach.

This great 'snack bar' just off the diving spot serves homemade fries and other snack, all prepared with local ingredients. The owner is very environmental aware, resulting in small cans for sauces, to be filled by the customers to each individual's needs.Should you be in the area, make sure to pay a visit!

Had a few drinks here on the terrace and a great rustic dinner the night after. Good menu, lots to choose from and very decent pricing (we had 2 3-course meals and 5 alcoholic beverages for â¬85). Staff was quick to take orders and very helpful in general. Food was quick to arrive to the table. Would dine here again!

We missed everything that's linked to 4 stars hotel... unfortunately. Especially in the bathroom and with breakfast. And, even if I like dogs very much, I didn't like the smell in the room of a wet dog... (carpet and sofa)

Inside location looks much more attractive than from the outside. Very kind and helpful staff. Menu available in Dutch and German, however with Google translation 20 years ago. Lot of fun by surprising Geman words.Food is prepared fresh, causing some waiting time. Taste and quality of meat is very good, home made sauces and salats.Difficult to recommend one dish as all three we had were very good.Size of portion is more than sufficient, were glad skipping starters.

After a lovely day at the amazing beach we thought why not have dinner at the Buurman. The menu looked interesting and the view was the selling point. Plenty of staff yet non of them had the time to so much as smile. We were there for a good 40 mins at the very least and in that entire duration one of the waitresses was busy with a table of people who may have been people she knows personally or regular customer. She just stood there yapping away with them. Pizza was reheated frozen pizza. No taste at all. We ordered a kids meal box and were under the impression according to the menu that you also got a free gift/toy with the box. We just got the box and the food. The chips and kibbling dish was below average. Chips almost fried too long and hard to chew on. Kibbling was OK but the salad. I cant even or even guess for how many decades the veges must have been out for. The salad looked depressing. Gambas pasta dish was an even bigger disgrace. A large bowl of sauce that had giant sized over cooked pasta swimming in it. And somewhere in between all that artwork there were 4-5 pieces of gambas that were chewy than chewing gum. If you want a drink and an amazing view then do go there. If you are hungry and want food then also go there. But anything more than just standard food then stay away from there.

The four of arrived after being recommended this restaurant and first impression was that he was nicely decorated. We ordered but took a while for bread and wine to arrive. From the outset we found the staff rude arrogant, actually looked like they didn't want to be there at all. You couldn't get their attention to ask for anything because they were all 'too busy'! The most arrogant one we dubbed as "Mr Chuckles' especially because he looked like it had been years since he last had one. On a note in the menu my husband and friend had the fish and chips, they both agreed it was the best they had, but I on the other hand had mussels which resulted in me writhing in agony later that night, violent throwing up and manifested a demonic possession of my intestines. Here's to the group that we're sitting behind us who sat there before us and had to suffer watching us eating when they had't even been given a scrap if bread in all that time waiting..

Nice bar with relaxed atmosphere, different from the other bars and restaurants on offer in Renesse. Quiet when we were there; the lady said the bar was relatively new having previously been a Rock cafe so it would time for the clientele to change. Food was excellent and well presented. The chef is keen to please, with small taster dishes being presented at start of meal by friendly staff. Wine good too and meal for 2 and wine around £25 a head. We enjoyed so much we visited twice. I had spare ribs both times, which were delicious - partner had cod and rice dish, both well presented and full of flavour. Looking forward to re-visiting next year.

We only need a small bite on our way from Amsterdam to the Belgium Coastline. To skip the congestions around Rotterdam and Antwerp, we decided to take the more minor roads through Sealand. I was happy that you could get small bites like Bitterbollen, which was perfect. The staff members were friendly and attentive. So the ideal place to have a food break.
