This place is for everybody! Couples, family, kids (a great playground is part of it), buddies and friends. The middle is open-air but there is also a covered court where people can go. As for the food, it's typical Filipino - they have good specialities of meat and seafood - though typically again, vegetable dishes are not many. What's also good with the cuisine is that Muslims can stick to non-pork cuisine; but pork is also available with wide choices for those who are non-Muslims. The service is excellent - enough people to serve the clients and always a smile. Price is very reasonable, practically cheap - and that includes the drinks!
the first resto that i ate in after visiting fort pilar. this happened to be one of the favorite restaurants of my bf here in zamboanga as he is a local there he pretty much knows where to eat good food around town. we were planning on eating at mano-mano at paseo del mar but unfortunately it was jammed packed by the time we arrived there after visiting fort pilar. the atmosphere of the place was okay it was warm. the staff were fast and had smiles when they were serving us plus the important thing is the food was great specially there balbacua, it was the first time that i tasted that dish and i instantly fell inlove with it! oh and dont forget to try out there shakes it was good too! and did i say that the food is very very affordable? after eating here me and dengo my bf, became so stuffed and felt really sleepy haha! all in all it is a great resto a must eat in zamboanga :)

I've read the previous reviews of this restaurant and I guess they werent able to maintain the quality of their food and service. We went there during lunchtime, and it was packed. Ordered the seafood platter and fried chicken. Seafood platter was not that tasty and the fried chicken was undercooked to the point that the breast/thigh part was still oozing with blood. Yuck! We returned the undercooked chicken and it took them 30minutes to return in. I was looking for a supervisor to complain to but couldn't find any. Service is poor, very long waiting time, and below average food. Not to mention that you're at risk for Salmonella ingestion!
I love going to this restaurant especially after five (5) as their CHICKEN SARAP is buy-one-take-one. At different times, we ordered sinigang na hipon, and clam soup. Oh, so yummy!! And you would be comfortable in the air-conditioned environment. The renovation and expansion is really outstanding. There are several function rooms now, and kids can play in the playground. Indeed, it is a family restaurant.
Casa Velyn is a Casual dining Restaurant that serves a wide range of classic filipino dishes and few Spanish dishes.
Great ambiance. Makes you feel that you are in your grandparents' ancestral house. Food is also good except for their service water. It really tasted like tap water. The waiters/manager seemed disorientated during our visit considering that we were the only costumers that time. But overall, the place is okey and is recommendable.

we were in for a delightful dinner treat in this restaurant by our gracious hosts and we absolutely loved every dish served. you could sense the passion and patience the kitchen staff provided to give us the almost perfect dining experience. since it was near the bay and the room was not airconditioned, the temperature was humid which made us felt sweaty while enjoying our food.since we went there at night, we were not able to see the grandeur of the whole place. i hope we could get to visit again and have a tour.

My 1st visit here last 2015, their service was quick and all the food were fresh and delicious. But last December 2, when me and my friends went to have a good lunch ended up eating dried up barbecue chicken. Should be juicy not dry. I guess, that will be my last dine out to that branch.

every food that is fried is delicious, like lechon kawali, crispy pata etc. but dont order bihon or sotanghon, for many times we ordered this, they were very consistent with their cooking, it tasted terrible, the only ingredient they used is toyo, so the taste is only toyo, nothing else. its not worth to eat at palmeras. the only good thing going to palmeras is, they have big parking space.

This is a very famous seafood restaurant in Zamboanga and is a must place to eat in when you visit but I was really disappointed with the service since our orders were served more than the 30-45 minutes after placing the order which I think is really a long time to wait for orders to be served at the price they charge for famous dishes like curacha and crabs. The restaurant decor and ambience were very nice and colorful but the staff was mixed between regular staff and interns whcih was not good since there more interns who are not really helpful and cannot even take orders which is only allowed to regular staff. Our first order was delivered after 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes when we were told it will take 45 mins and additional orders we made after the first order were delivered another hour later so we had to stay for 3 hours in the restaurant to fianlly receive all orders whcih is really bad service despite the delicious seafood I am really not recommending the restaurant due to the bad combination of really high prices( 3 curacha for 1500php and bad late service.
