Went tot the restaurant on my own. The welcome in the restaurant was nog very good. Although there werd sufficient tables available I was assigned a place at the counter with the sushi conveyor belt. Not very comfortable for tall people.
It toon quite a while before the waiter came to take my order. His level of english was basic. Unfortunately they were out of ramen with scallops.
The california role sushi starter was very good with nice pieces of fish in it. Fresh and well prepared. My mail course was Japanese pilav rice but it looked more like Korean Bi Bim Bap. Nevertheless the dish was good and hot. Very tasty. But be care full the bowl is extremely hot.
Prices are reasonable. 1350 rubles for the meal which included a beer and a pot of tea.
I think I will come back again.

Ordered Salmon sashimi and three different meat dishes. Service was super fast - all meat foods were prepared from tasteless semi-finished pieces.
However the salmon was perfect. So based on other reviews I assume that only sushi& sashimi should be ordered there.
I would recommend Furusato restaurant for those who would like to get WELL-COOKED food.

Spent a week in Yuzhno and finally ventured out of the hotel for dinner. Definitely worth the trip. Of course the beer was great, but the food was fantastic too. Best calamari I have ever had. The steaks were good too, although maybe a little more pepper than I prefer. Service was just fine too. Lots of interesting choices on the menu.....so good I went back for a second night.

I visited the restaurant together with a friend. Atmosphere in the restaurant is not very cosy, but the view from the 10th Floor is nice. Service was ok, but typical Russian. Ramen came already while we were still eating the sashimi. Sashimi was a bit of a dissapointment, a bit watery as in the fish was not fresh and had been frozen. But the Ramen was delicious, warm and the broth tasted good.
Overall an average rating, there are better Japanese restaurants in town.

Food here is quite good and frequented by japanese. The sushi and sashimi is nice. Service is good. .. but ideally speak russian or use your fingers and point. It 7s a typical russian service where they don't have a habit if smiling.
I go there for the food. .. and I do return from time to time.

Im strongly recommended try to eat Himultan. It's very tasty and spicy Korean soup. As same way as I recommend try to eat bulgogi. There is very tasty Korean food.

This is a Japanese, sushi restaurant, which was fine, recognizing that you're on Sakhalin Island. The views are quite nice, and if the weather permits (not usually), you can eat on the roof Terrace which provides okay views. Service is average, presentation was fine for the sushi, but poor for other dishes. Menus were provided in English and Russian, so you won't go wrong eating here.

Небольшое кафе павильон в сквере пограничников. Удобные кресла, вкусная свежая выпечка, тортики. Можно взять кофе или чайник заварного чая 600 мл всего за 50 рублей. Удобно, чтобы по быстрому перкусить на ходу.

We went on a Saturday evening - no reservation. Not easy to find unless you know it is there. Very helpful staff - English and Russian menu.
Great food - the salads, local dumplings and fish and pork were great. The apple ice cream afterwards was a nice end.

Went here on my own on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was empty. I ordered a starter and main course. The starter was crab meat salad which was very good. Portion size nothing to complain about.
The main course, crab legs, came while I had not finished my starter. Annoying!
The crab legs were served as is, no extras at all. The staff looked surprised when I asked for a sides dish. They were offering rice is mashes potatoes. I went for the latter. The crab legs were delicious!!
Service is OK but hardly speak English.
I all come to The Soho again.
