Reviews on European food in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. The Yucatan capital has both colonial and Mayan treasures to discover. Nearby ruins at Uxmal give some insight into the lives of the predecessors of the conquistadores, who arrived in 1542. Mayan culture is also still evident in Merida's daily life and in the many colorful festivals celebrated here.

For those who crave European beer tastes, especially Belgian ones, this is the place. Abundant choice, or may I already say collection. The choice of fruit beers, e.g. kriek lambiek etc., even surpasses the average bar in Belgium itself. Foodwise, I just wanted to find out how they do Belgian fries, and I was not disappointed. Almost like in Belgium, be it a bit in the dry side. Only min point: all the Belgian sauces have not made it to this place yet. They do offer a delicious home made sauce tartar though (don't hesitate to ask for more if the small portion they give is not enough). The service was excellent by the way.

I went to Osteria Piccoli with my husband for a romantic dinner. The atmosphere, food and service of this Italian restaurant are all superb. We were impressed with all three courses, and our waiter was friendly and efficient. The complimentary fried bread was fantastic, and the after-dessert digestive shots of limoncello, compliments of our lovely hostess, were greatly appreciated. Nice touch. The bill for our dinner was really reasonable. Great value for our money. We loved everything about our dinner at Osteria Piccoli, and highly recommend it!!

The Trattoria boasts a relaxed and informal atmosphere providing good food at a good price. The name comes from 'Tratore' that in Italian means 'to prepare good food'. Trattoria is not only a wonderful lunch stop, but at night we transform into an intimat
Went for a walk and stopped here for lunch. Pleasantly surprised. We had Greek salads, and I had garlic shrimp appetizer. The fresh bread they served made for a nice filling lunch. Prices were reasonable. Sat on the outdoor patio.

Merida's best kept secret. The quality of this place is outstanding! Even compared to actual comparisons in its original homeland (places like Angelina, mori yoshida in Paris). The owners are very friendly and helpful, while chatting with them I even found out that they import some of their ingredients, that's how far they go to uphold the quality. Would highly recommend.

We first toured the restaurant's culinary museum. What a treasure and just a short distance from Centro and the Paseo de Montejo. The restaurant's courtyard is a place of peace and calm. The food options are many and inexpensive. The staff are friendly and helpful especially when translating the menu. We would highly recommend the Creme Brûlée! We will return.

After nearly 3 weeks of eating Mexican food we were craving something different and the middle eastern food @ Pita was just what we felt like. Lots of flavours and fresh...the hummus was particularly good as was the lamb dish. Worth noting that they accept credit cards and happily provide takeaway food too. Thanks for your visit!!!!

As always, the courtyard is a delightful and relaxed area to sit and enjoy a snack, or cake and coffee with friends. The service is good, the various platters of meats and cheeses much better than in many other places, all at a reasonable price.

We were out for a very nice meal with friends and we were not disappointed. There were a variety of dishes ordered at our table. The cream of carrot soup was fabulous, the asparagus / spinach salad was crisp and fresh, the bread, oil and olives served before dinner made us think we were back in Italy. We all had a variety of pasta dishes. The beef rague (chef speciality) had the beef done in a rich creamy gravy, with home made noodles, it lived up to its advance billing, the seafood pasta was full of flavor. Leave room for dessert, Gelato was great especially the dark chocolate! Overall presentation was well done. A quaint restaurant we will go back to before we leave Mérida.

We met some of our local friends from Merida at Amore e Gusto for dinner on a Wednesday night; they chose this restaurant because it is their favorite in all of Merida. It is all outdoor seating underneath a roof with beautiful hanging lights, plants and flowers. The location is on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. All of the staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious!
