Yokohama Hotels | Places to Stay in Yokohama

Yokohama is easily accessible from Tokyo, but there’s enough to see and do here that it’s worth more than a day trip. Visit Minato Marai 21, a popular, modern neighborhood with great shopping and tons of restaurant options. TripAdvisor travelers also recommend stopping at Big Wharf (Osanbashi Pier), a uniquely shaped pier with spectacular views.

What a view !

The views of Yokohama were great and it was definitely a unique and enjoyable experience staying and sleeping over 50 floors up? The room was quite dark and dated and some of the furniture had certainly seen better days. The carpet also looked quite old and dirty and the tv was small and old. There was also a surprising amount of mold on the floor and walls in the bathroom. I definitely wasn't expecting to have any of these types of issues at this level of hotel. The views of Yokohama were definitely 5 star and they were certainly the best point about the room and hotel overall. The hotel is in a great location and within easy walking distance of everything? I'm definitely going to come back and stay in Yokohama again, but probably not at this hotel again?

Beautiful hotel, amazing staff - Mr. Takaki Seto

Reviewed By ndakasimba07

It’s been over a year since our family of four travelled to Yokohama due to COVID. We were quite impressed with the lobby and friendly service upon arrival. Check-in at 2pm is nice and allows time to check out the city and eat your way through Chinatown (couple minutes walk!). It was our children’s nap time so we got settled into the room. In Japan there are hotels at which the a/c only blows warm/hot air during the winter months. We’ve been through this once before at a hotel in Karuizawa and had a horrible night’s sleep. After almost 2 hours of not being able to nap and the kids getting cranky due to the heated stuffiness of the room, we decided to just check out, cut our trip short to return home, and likely eat the cost of the room. However upon hearing of our wish to check out, the front desk was more than accommodating and offered two separate rooms to choose from - both with actual cool air conditioning. Deputy Director Mr. Takaki Seto especially was beyond helpful and understanding of the need for our two small children to be comfortable. The new room was perfect and the a/c worked great. After the nice stay on the day of check-out, we were about to leave our room, but my wife discovered she had misplaced a very important sentimental ring. We spent an hour looking in the room for it to no avail. Our son had the brilliant idea to check the other room we were in for the two hours the day before. Mr. Takaki Seto not only let us back in the room but personally helped us search for 20 minutes. When we couldn’t find it, he called the front desk to check if the cleaning staff had found anything. They had! Only in Japan. The irreplaceable ring was returned. We gave our effusive apologies to Mr. Takaki Seto for his troubles yet he apologized for our worry. His kindness was amazing and we thank him again. Can’t say enough great things about the quality of hotel and the superb location. More importantly, the staff went well above and beyond. 5/5 and would definitely recommend!

Smallest Rooms I Have Ever Seen !

Reviewed By kamalgarg22

I stayed at this hotel for 1 week during my business visit to Japan. This hotel is located outside Sakuragicho station and is 10 min away from Yokohama station. The check in is located on 5th floor and there is no porter for luggage assistance. I had to carry all my suitcases to 5th floor for check in. Since this was my first visit to Japan, i requested them to show me the room first before checking in but they refused. So i went ahead and completed the check in. When i requested them to help me with the luggage as i was carrying two large suitcases they even refused for the help. They pointed me to the luggage trolleys kept in the lobby and told me that i only have to manage the luggage till my room. When i entered my room, i was so disappointed. The room was so small that there was hardly any space to move. There was not even sufficient space to keep my luggage. I immediately went to the reception desk and asked them to give me a bigger room. They told me that they are sold out and upgrade is possible only if i pay more. I paid them 5000 JPY per night to get an upgrade to next category room which was slightly bigger. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling to Japan for business or tourism. The hotel staff is not at all supportive.

Lovely stay in Yokohama

We had a great stay at the Mandarin. We had a package delivered to the hotel the day before we arrived. Front desk took care of this flawlessly. Appreciated the room amenities if needed at the front desk. Front desk could not have been more helpful giving us directions to local venues. Room was clean. Loved the big tub. Ten minute walk from the subway.

Comfortable and well appointed - highly recommended

Reviewed By Darren C

Stayed several nights during a business trip to the area. The rooms I stayed in were all very large and brilliantly appointed, almost felt like I was staying in someone’s house ! Unfortunately I slept terribly on most nights, mostly to do with the jet lag, but the pillows were very hard and their was always a constant ‘hum’ from some electrical relay somewhere in the room (minor details - but annoying after the third sleepless night !!!). Everything was immaculately clean and ordered and the staff were very efficient, polite and could speak sufficient English to make things easy at checkin and checkout. Breakfast is in the adjacent restaurant on the ground floor, and due to covid restrictions was a set menu rather than a buffet. High quality food and again, the staff were very efficient and helpful. My main takeaway for people, is that the hotel starts on the 10th floor of the building, make sure you get the lifts that service the full 17 floors, not just the lift onto the 2nd level (which I took). I made the mistake then of using the escalators (so I could “experience a Japanese department store”) - which proved to be a sensory overload on a) my first trip to Japan and b) after 32 hours of sleep deprived travelling… The sound proofing of the rooms are superb and I really could not find any fault. Highly recommended

The area surrounding the hotel is in itself a large amusement complex featuring various sports facilities, including a skating rink, indoor tennis courts and bowling alleys. Also nearby are the landmarks of exotic Yokohama city, Chinatown, the hillside parks and the Yokohama Bay port.

Room nice overall with a nice desk and chair beside window. Bathroom had some interesting design quirks! Like a flush button hidden under a metal flip lid. Check out was done by machine which were not roped off in the morning. Couple of minutes walk to the Shinkansen station. ¥12542 for double room.
