I hadn’t been to Yelapa for a few years, one of the reasons I went back was the amazing food at Cafe Bahia! I kept dreaming about Susan’s breakfasts and I was not disappointed once I returned. Located at the town pier this restaurant serves fresh and delicious food including vegan and gluten free options and is a ‘must do’ on any trip to Yelapa.

Yelapa is small village. This place has no address or website, but can easily be found for tourists visiting Yelapa

Pollo Bollo has a great space, good bar, and very friendly and hard-working staff. We have been to Yelapa twice and understand that dining-out options are limited and one of the things that make Yelapa so charming.
However... each time we've been to Pollo Bollo, the wait time is really long. Waiting to get a table is 20-30 minutes at times. When seated, getting a drink takes 15-20 minutes. Dinner? Well it can take 45 -60 minutes. To me, dinners like bbq chicken, grilled shrimp, and such with sides like mashed potatoes, beans, and rice shouldn't take up to an hour to serve. It seems like everything is cooked to order and everyone is watching the clock wondering why the long wait. I felt badly for families with children who after 45 minutes were starting to struggle with keeping their children occupied. Like I said, the food is good, and the staff works hard, but what I think they need to do is reduce their menu items and streamline their kitchen in order to reduce the wait times.

After a 4 hour hike in the jungle...we were hungry and thirsty! We came across this lovely gem. At first, we stopped for a fee beers..and then came back later that night for live music and dinner! I am really glad we came back! Not only was there incredible live music..the food was WOW! My husband had the special which was cheese stuffed shrimp, wrapped in bacon and grilled! I could not have thought of a more perfect dinner special for my husband! I had the kiwi sauce covered fish and it definitely topped the list as one of the best meals I had in Yelapa! Thank you for a great night!

Yelapa Oasis

A unique experience where the river meets the ocean and simple meets extraordinary. Welcoming artists from around the world to perform and exhibit their work. Cafe, Bar, Casita rentals, and fully equipped Pilates studio, with warm personal attention, a mellow atmosphere, and an array of quality services unlike any other place in town. We are on the shores of the Tuito River, just steps from the main beach in Yelapa, a short boat ride from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. A truly unique experience!

After visiting the Waterfalls we were thirsty and hungry our tour guide recommended Oasis and we were delighted. We were greeted with a smile and had our drinks and food fast. The food was tasty and priced right but we found the drinks overpriced for Mexico. The location on the beach was relaxing.

Gloria's Restaurant

Reviewed By ChicoRanMan - Chico,CA

Delightful restaurant for a delicious dinner. The chips/salsa/guacamole starter was SO much better than anything we've had in the states. There was plenty of very tasty food and drink. Sorry, no kids menu with grilled cheese and chicken fingers - just a menu full of very good Mexican food. In case you no hablo espanol, the friendly waiter spoke decent English. Parking: are you kidding me? There is not a single car in Yelapa! Total cost of dinner for 3 was equal to about US$25. A little pricier than the average dinner here, but still affordable and oh so good.

While staying in Yelapa for a few days Domingo's became our go-to at the beach. The food was amazing (we had breakfast and snacks), the service friendly and the location at the end of the row of restaurants kept it peaceful even when the huge groups of day-trippers arrived. Their lounge chairs were comfortable as well. Their homemade chips were the best we had anywhere in Mexico during our trip!

Coco Bar Restaurant

Reviewed By Estevao - Ashland, OR

If you are new to Yelapa and wander the beach it is hard to tell one restaurant from another, but there many, Domingos, Coco's, Chico's, Marlin, Angelina's. As you walk, you will be invited by waiters from each restaurant to eat/ drink there. Some are good, some less so. Our favorite is Coco's, which has only one waiter who is fairly shy, so there aren't a whole lot of folks there usually. But I will say this, Nicholas, the waiter/bartender who has been working on the beach for decades makes the best margaritas. The kitchen is simple, but spotless and the food delicious. Food is served from mid morning til late afternoon. We love the guacamole, Chile rellenos, ceviche tacos. If you don't see what you want just ask and they will make it. Try a raicilla margarita if you want something a little different and want to try the local moonshine.
To find Coco's imagine you are looking at the beach from the ocean. It is the 2nd restaurant from the right. We have been to Yelapa over a dozen times and somehow when we go to the beach we always end up at Coco's, though we have tried others.

This restaurant is popular for a reason. The food is good! Not your expected, heavy Mexican fare but a light, delicious, modern take on the cuisine. It's how we want to eat Mexican now. This doesn't mean the food is not authentic. They have great tacos, salads and nightly specials that will fit everyone's budget and dietary needs. They even cooked up the fish we had caught one day. We ate here three times during a five day stay. Truth be told, I could have eaten there every day!
