Enjoy the exotic, local cuisine of Myanmar, with its subtly blended spice, or select from a wide variety of European fine-dining specialties. Mandalay Restaurant at Belmond Governor's Residence benefits from a romantic location, surrounded by tropical gar
First off, the service here is second to none. Exceptional and attentive service all throughout the evening and it couldn't have been any better. The Ambience is excellent too with a vintage British charm and aura to the place. And then comes the slightly disappointing aspect. The food. It was a bit underwhelming as I feel they have tailored this to a western palate. It lacked the punch and flavour. Don't get me wrong, the food was very well presented and tasted good. But it just did not match our expectations and the high standard of this hotel. A total of $150 for 7 of us including all drinks, service charges and taxes. A memorable experience indeed, well worth a visit as long as you keep your food expectations in check.

Why go all the way just to sample good cuisine, when there is fine dining in certain good restaurants in Yangon. I did have dinner there, and was shocked when the bill was presented to my friend. Sample the local cuisine, thus educating oneâs palate.Dear Keith DGood afternoon from The Strand Restaurant, and thank you for sharing your recent experience on Trip advisor. It was worth to explore the fine restaurant tucked amongst some bungalow. Itself was an immense bungalow.Opt for the air conditioning seating inside as it was quite hot and humid for the outdoor seating.Quite bright white and gold theme. There's an odour hanging strong which dropped a star. I don't want say it as not to take away the other plusses, you know what it smells like. Waiting staff tries very much though English a bit challenging, but hey it's a training school and they can speak way more English than I Burmese. I opted for the dinner set. Really enjoyed the grilled Tiger Prawns entrée, the Roasted Tenderloin was perfect medium doneness, and topped it off a white and dark chocolate mousse with orange Cointreau sauce. Set was MMK 55,000++Dear Wolv3rin3, Thank you for taking your time to write us this wonderful review! We are delighted that you enjoyed our foods and decorations. For my second time in this restaurant it was a revelation. Taliolini pasta and Tagliatelle mushroom of chef Nicolino are divine. I tried a lot of Italian restaurants before but it was my favourite. It's true authentic italian food. The staffs are kind, friendly and professional especially kyi win , ko ko and the rest of the staffs made us feel so satisfied. An amazing Opera singer was here during our dinner for creating a romantic atmosphere and bring us directly to Italy. Thank you for this night. I will surely come again to try the rest of the menu of chef Nicolino.Dear Magicnini10,Thank you so much for your great review! Nourish Cafe is a plant-based cafe serving filling and delicious meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We offer healthy take-away options all day long. Come and try our veggie burger, it is delicious!
Found this place via TripAdvisor and glad we came. Understated location at the end of an alley (left hand side) off a main thoroughfare. Glass door frontage in small building complex in the back. Cosy atmosphere (we observed regular local expat following) and special with the limited available vegan restaurants. We followed the dish and drink recommendations by the counter staff and enjoyed the offerings. Orders are placed at the counter and generally is self-service. Wifi is available. Air conditioning too but a bit on the warm side. Still, a recommendation by us. Lunch total was $20 for two.

My husband & I had dinner here tonight. The ambience was lovely. The food was excellent. My husband enjoyed the cocktails & the The Manageress volunteered to show us around the private rooms & balcony. A very good Ambasador. Very attentive & impeccable services. When we said we felt cold, they immediately adjusted the air conditioning & proposed good angles for photos. Will try it in the daytime on our next visit. A very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

We went last night and in the rain it was a little difficult to find, not helped by the big neon sign for the apartment complex outshining the restaurant sign so muchHowever we had a great welcome and were seated in the outside patio area between the dentists office and the large pond in front of the new apartment development. It was a lot more pleasant than it sounds I promise you. The staff were very attentive and brought us menus, water and fresh warm bread right away. The choices on the menu were certainly good for me but for my vegetarian wife they were limited, in fact there was only one vegetarian main course and it was the usual Risotto, often the sign of an unimaginative chef. However all the food was great. The risotto was tasty and well cooked and my duck was excellent. The sides were also very nicely cooked and the vegetables fresh. We both opted for the chocolate mouse for dessert which was really good. So I still give the place a five but I would strongly suggest adding at least one more good vegetarian dish to the menu. Set a trend.Thank you so much for your constructed fedback and kind review. We take noted of your fedback and will work on our vegetarian option.Looking forward to seeing you at Orng kitchen again.Best RegardsChef Orng

Fine dining place in a beautiful location on the border at the Inya lake in Yangon with a very green garden and great view to the sunset.
I canât believe how amazing this place is.For me, a great restaurant is made even more special when the staff believe what they are selling and the SEEDS team ooze pride in what they are doing. This isnât just the best restaurant in Myanmar, itâs presumably one of the best in the region and it really deserves the high praise it receives.Every moment of your stay is carefully considered to ensure that your expectations are surpassed. Knowing that people who have never been will get to enjoy this place for the first time is just so exciting.Place a booking and enjoy every second.Dear Stewart,Thank you very much for your compliments, we will pass it to our team, they are our key and with them together our customer should feel comfortable to enjoy our property, drinks and our food. Thanks again and hope see you again at SEEDS, Lucia and Felix
Yangon (Rangoon) Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Yangon (Rangoon)
Chanced upon this restaurant during our day tour. Initially we thought that with the huge elegant place and well dressed up staff, food will be expensive but my friend and I were surprised to have such huge servings. As we stumbled at this place during lunch time, there were no customers when we came in. Service was great and they even gave us some live harp music at the stage. Recommending this place if you want elegant service at affordable food price. We are so pleased you enjoyed your experience at Karaweik Palace. Its wonderful to hear such positive review. We hope to see you again.Thank you.
