An ideal location to stay during your visit to Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko. Just across from the Kawaguchiko Sation. All the guest rooms are Japanese-style. Mt. Fuji can be seen from the guest rooms and baths. If you plan to climb Mt. Fuji, its fifth station is located only 40 minutes away by bus.
Very good location! The hostel is right in front of Kawaguchiko Station and close to amenities. Convenient stores, restaurants, shopping places were just within walking distance. You'll be able to see the beautiful Mount Fuji on a good day too! Very helpful and hospitable owners. We were allowed to leave our luggages/backpacks at the hostel when we went for our climb at no extra fee. Some of us were leaving for Tokyo right after our descend and our shower fee at the hostel was discounted. Loved the Japanese breakfast. Recommended for solo travellers as well as groups! Note: The Japanese are very particular about footwear and where you place them! So, be respectful, watch and learn from the locals, hostel owners and their staff on where they place their shoes/boots, and where they put on those sandals that they provide for you. When in doubt, just ask!?

We've stayed at Sakura last week for 2 nights and we had an amazing time. The owner and his wife are very friendly, always willing to help. They did recommend a trekking trail, drove us to the start of the trail and gave us a map to help us find our way. The trail is really out of beaten tracks, we were alone all the way with beautiful views on Fuji Mountain. The guesthouse has good value set dinner and breakfast with local products. The private onsen is a treat after a day out walking/on the bicycle. The room had a panoramic view on Fuji Mountain.

Got to the hotel very late so couldn't comment too much of its surrounding. The building and room were quite dated. Room size was large enough to have two luggages opened together which is quite acceptable in Japan. The bed was fine but unfortunately they don't have any spare pillow. Decent.

The food was amazing; the hospitality was lovely; the accommodations were perfect for us - 3 twin beds in a room with our en suite bathroom plus additional bath/shower and lavatory access downstairs. The Inn is walking distance from several places to eat as well as a 7/11 and the MayFair collection of stores and eating establishments. Would definitely recommend this place.

I stayed one night with a girlfriend on Sunday. The weather cast said it is going to rain but unexpectedly it was snowing so we could enjoy the out side Onsen (hot spring) with snow. This area is popular during summer so you can stay at this hotel at a reasonable price during winter. I recommend you stay there during winter as it is very beautiful to enjoy the Yukimi-buro (outside hot spring with snow) and the South Alps looks very beautiful. You can enjoy skiing and snowboarding too. The hotel was 5-minute away from Kobuchizawa station by car. (You can get Kobuchizawa from Shinjuku by train named Azusa. It takes 2 hours.) All hotel staff were very kind and warm. They offered us to come to the Outlet Mall to pick us up when we were heading to the hotel and on the evening they dropped and picked us at the restaurant (not their hotel restaurant) for dinner. The hotel was amazing. It's newly built (1 year ago). They designed everything very modern and cool. The room was very spacious and clean. The room had a floor heating! There were some comfortable nice sofas and a table so we enjoyed a bottle of wine at our room. There was a yoga mat too. The bath tab was very big and cool. They kindly provided a half bottle of champagne as a welcome drink with a warm message. The spa(outside hot spring) was in a different building so they took us there by their car (2 minutes far). You can use it for 1 and half hour in private. There wes a big hot spring without a roof and there was a small hot spring with a roof. In the spa house, there were shower booths and beach beds. The view of snow from the hot springs was beautiful. I felt like I'm watching a silent film so I could enjoy the hot spring for 1 hour inside. In the hotel, there was a whisky bar. It was cool. This area is famous for clean and tasty water to make whisky and Japanese Sake. There was a Swedish guy who speaks good Japanese and I assume he definitely speaks good English. Unfortunately they haven't prepared an English website so you have to see the Japanese website. Only two things I was unhappy were the pillows and the control of the floor heating. The pillows were too thick and hard for my neck. And I couldn't turn off the floor heating so while I was sleeping it was too hot to sleep. 支配人の今井さんとそしてスタッフの皆様。素晴らしい滞在になりました。 また是非伺いたいと思います。ありがとうございました。

Our lodge has both Western and Japanese Ryokan-style rooms, as well as onsen and a public seating area. Dinner can be had at our neighbor restaurant Steakhouse Keyspring, or at local eateries. We also serve a western-style breakfast prepared exclusively with local ingredients. (Meals cost extra) We are under 10min drive from Kobuchizawa Station; we can arrange transport to and from.

This place surely is all that is being promised by the pictures and the reviews. The hosts, although not fluent in English, help out as best as they can. Thanks to Google translate, that worked out surprisingly well. The rooms are tidy, the hot pool is amazing. We loved it. Only breakfast was... a bit Adventurous ;-)

Historical hotel, very interesting architecture and beautiful gardens and landscaping. Very good dining in the Turquoise Room. Staff helpful and courteous. That being said, the plumbing is a problem. We stayed on the 2nd floor. During my shower, water flow completely stopped. We both ended up taking a pitcher of water from the sink into the shower to rinse shampoo from our hair. The staff gave a $40 refund for our trouble.
