旅行費用を削減するために素泊まりホテルにしました。となると朝食を心配しなければなりませんが、この店を見つけました。菊ケ浜のそばにある喫茶店です。朝八時半には開店しているので重宝しました。

I knew we should have stopped here all the times each we have passed this place over the years! We finally did today and what a wonderful little surprise!The owner is a photographer as well and showed us around personally his little gallery ,The lunch menu is very small, but one can never go wrong with waffles and sandwiches!Not to mention a wonderful cappuccino!!!

萩の博物館から松陰神社まで散歩しようと思った所、雲行きが怪しくなり、また小腹も空いたのでどうしようかと思っていたら、このカフェに当たった。ジャズを売りにしているような小さな看板だったのだが、扉を開けてみて、驚いた。こんな所に、と言えば失礼かもしれないが、大変立派な音響設備（スピーカー）にグランドピアノも置いてあった。いい匂いに釣られてカレーライスを注文した。案の定、辛さと甘味の絶妙セッション。これはデザートとコーヒーも楽しまなくては、というところで雨が本降りとなり、退散した。縁があれば、今度はゆっくり居たいなと思う、そんな素敵なカフェだった。

I’ve been here a few times for chai tea and sweets. Today I finally made it for lunch, and it was really good! The sandwich today was an egg salad with pumpkin. Delicious! I also ordered their pumpkin cheesecake because I love pumpkin! I was not disappointed. The cheesecake was great, and there were chucks of pumpkin in it. Yum!

Japanese - カフェテリア異人館. Ijinkan (foreigner's House) is located on a corner 100 metres east of the Bronze Statue of Shinsaku Takasugi, and about the same distance south of Enseiji Temple.It has a nice atmosphere inside. There is a small carpark on the end of the tearoom which I assume is for customer parking.

The cafe itself residing in an old samurai house, it is located in the historic part of town close to the old samurai and merchant quarters, and is therefore a good choice for a break among sightseeing. The interior was very clean and cozy, surrounded by a garden enclosure which can be viewed through large windows. The facility also provides kimono rental and a souvenir shop. The owner was extremely friendly and hospitable, and visiting the place was a pleasant experience.

You can have a coffee at this cafe and look at the small zen garden - very relaxing. Also the store is full of fabulous items - amazing carpets from Turkey, a great clothing range, cosy slippers, placemats and other items. Whoever chose the stock has a great eye. If you are in the area, do drop in. It's next to the Kikuya Residence, which is also a must see.

古民家カフェというほど古くはない一般住宅を改装した感じのカフェです。お庭がきれいです。お座敷は座卓＆座布団、洋室はテーブル＆椅子です。ランチもお手頃です。駐車場あり。休日のお昼は混むので、予約した方がいいです。
