We stopped in for a couple of pints and enjoyed the ambiance of this longtime bar in downtown Laramie. As the title suggests, we felt it to be more of a local hangout, and enjoyed bellying up to the bar and making small talk with the patrons. There are quite a few choices for bars in this town - this is an able competitor.

Stopped by about 6:45 on a Saturday night and it was very busy, but we were seated within two minutes. Tables are pretty close together and makes exiting a bit difficult. Food was very good. We split the Chicken Fried Steak dinner, wedge salad and had a baked potato. All were huge! We took the potato home. The chicken fried steak was crispy and tender and filled the plate. Salad was very good. It was a great meal to split. Server seemed confused by my drink order . . . vodka on the rocks with olives. Had to come back twice to ask about it. When it arrived, it was vodka straight up (warm) with some olives. I just added the ice from my water.

We went here for lunch based on a locals recommendation. Modern, upscale locals on the corner right on one of the main streets. Had their drink specials, yummy. Good selection, I chose the taco salad, and my friend, a panini. Good value for the price. Friendly waitstaff. Would go again!

I have never had a breakfast here I did not like. The picture below is of the 17th Street Stacker - hash browns piled high with peppers and onions a sauce then topped with eggs your style. It was fabulous. They have burritos and and Ranch Benedict and everything in between. It is all made well and tastes excellent! In good weather you can sit on the patio, which is delightful. Mornings are never hot in the mountains. Good eats and a friendly atmosphere at 17th Street Café.

opened mid june 2012 - incredible local-sourced burgers & pizza & beer til midnite. Just exactly what this town needed!
I recently spent a couple of days in Laramie and the desk person at my hotel recommended this restaurant. First night: my husband and I went to Crowbar for burgers. The service was quick and friendly and our food was absolutely delicious. The meat was locally sourced and it tasted very fresh. Second night: we went back to try the pizza. It also was really exceptional with a crisp crust and very nicely balanced flavors. If you only have one night in Laramie you may have to choose but, burgers or pizza, you will be impressed. The atmosphere was casual and fun!

Born in a Barn is a full-service bar & grill, serving 12 varieties of chicken wings, 16 varieties of burgers, hot dogs, and a wide variety of beer
Upon a recommendation from a local business, we decided to try Born in a Barn for lunch one weekend. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, but service was friendly and our server took our order promptly once seated. The menu is somewhat limited in that the main offerings are wings, burgers, hot dogs, and appetizers. That said, food is very rich and diners do not leave hungry. A full bar service is also available. Atmosphere is pub super casual, with a few tables of outdoor seating. We ordered the Barnchos to start. These nachos were made with house-made potato chips, queso, BBQ pork, bacon, cheddar cheese and spicy sauce. The portion was actually large enough for several people to share. That said, we split a Naughty Burger with fries and a side of onion rings. All food was served hot and fresh. Our favorite part of the meal was the Barnchos, which were crispy even smothered with all the toppings. The onion rings were decent, but the fries were soggy. Our burger was just okay and super greasy, perhaps because of the double meat patties.Bottom line: We would return to Born in a Barn for appetizers again in the future.

Stopped in for lunch on a busy Friday. The place was packed, although I was lucky enough to get the last table (for one). I took a look at the menu and liked the fact that there were healthy options available. I was thinking about having one of their interesting salads, but passed when I saw how HUGE they were. I ended up with a half sandwich with a dinner salad. This was plenty. The salad was very tasty and full of fresh veggies. Dressing was a delicious mango vinaigrette. I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich - turkey pesto on sourdough bread. Service by Chloe was both efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is rustic-casual and very inviting. Note, itâs not a big place, so you may have to wait especially if itâs a larger party. Worth the wait!

J's Prairie Rose Café. We serve family-recipe food that will surely satisfy your appetite.Enjoy delicious food that is available in dine-in or carryout orders.
Waiting on the street on Saturday morning was quick. Sat at the bar and chatted with staff and other patrons. Husband had breakfast burrito and I had the stack, both outstanding! We only ate half and save the rest for later that day. Only had to pay for one meal out.
