Warm welcome. Very attentive service. Excellent food - we both had the vegetarian meal which was absolutely delicious.Little touches like hot rolls made it even nicer.
Probably shouldn't have had pudding but only because we were already full!
Around two hours for lunch and nothing felt hurried.
Really nice Christmas decorations- not over the top - just right.

Visited tonight with my partner. Upon arrival we received a lovely welcome and was shown to our table. On Wednesday nights they do a special deal where you choose a starter (from a choice of 4), main (from a choice of 4) with rice (choice of 2), and a soft drink included for £9.95. This all comes on one plate and is each bit is smaller than the normal menu but all together provides a nice plate full. Food was tasty and flavourful. Staff are very attentive and polite. Overall a very nice restaurant providing lovely food and service. Cant wait to go again!!!

Freehouse and Restaurant, Great food, Fine Wines, Craft Beers and Artisan Spirit Range. Dog friendly in the snug and available to hire for any type of celebration. On Sundays we Roast!
Passed on way home and called in for a quick bite. A warm welcome into the nicely decorated bar area. Two to chose from and a dining area. Tables are nicely laid out so as to be far enough apart to be comfortable.
A nice menu, no steak when we called, and may not be to all's taste. We found something to suit us. Excellent choice of ales and other drinks - gin a specialty I think.
Our food was well presented, very tasty and very reasonably priced. Will call in again when we visit Norwich.
Limited parking at the front of the pub.

Fantastic Sunday roast yesterday. The pub was busy as it always is due to its fantastic reputation. Booking is highly recommend if you want a table in the snug or front dining room. There is only a specials board on Sundays, with a good choice still if you don’t want a roast. Good pricing £11.95 ( dependent on dish ) - plenty of veg and roast potatoes. Good food, great beer and top service

The food is always good here, whether you eat in or have a takeaway. The staff are helpful and nothing is too much trouble. A must to try locally.

I've eaten here several times over the years both for lunch and breakfast. Breakfasts I've found to be really good but my latest visit for lunch was a bit disappointing. I'd ordered a Platform burger well done and was surprised to find my burger showing pink meat as I cut through it. I'm not one to complain so left my burger and ate my French fries and Onion rings which were spot on. I'm also not a fan of eating off wooden platters. would I recommend, yes if you go for a breakfast or snack, no if you like your burgers well done. On a plus side it is a unique environment steeped in railway history and still retains a lot of original features plus real coal fires burning in both restaurant grates. Staff are very pleasant and helpful too.

We are a family run restaurant specialising in American diner cuisine. Our burgers are home-made and we believe are second to none. We also provide alterative dishes and vegetarian dishes. We are child friendly and welcome families to our unique diner.

A Family business commited to providing great food , friendly service and a lovely atmosphere.
I can't fault the quality of the food and the staff are helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. However one negative: the toilets need improving. We agree with you that our loos could use some TLC!! Over the past 2 years we have had to prioritise what we had to replace! They are on our lists of things to do. Thank you for your comments.

We visited this pub for dinner on a Monday evening when most other places in the locality were closed. The pub interior is rather tired and dated and the menu is not particularly inspiring, typical of an old fashioned pub. Portions were large but the quality was not great. However my wife thought the peanut butter ice cream was very good and would go there again just for that.
