I recently stayed at Workington Travelodge in the Lake District with my wife and 4 children. It is a brand new hotel and the staff, accommodation and food available was of a very high standard. There was plenty if free parking onside. We regularly stay in Travelodge and have never experienced an issue in over 10 years! Travelodge is the best all round!

The Old Ginn House Inn is an excellent choice for travellers visiting the Western Lake District and Solway Coast. It has been converted from a 17c farmstead into a charming village Inn, with an appealing courtyard and patio area with ample free parking. The Inn is conveniently located for Cockermouth, Workington, Whitehaven, the Lake District UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Solway Coast. It is also convenient for those visiting the area on business. The restaurant offers a hearty Cumbrian grill breakfast (plus many other breakfast choices), and an extensive menu for lunch and evening meals. The Bar is the Ginn Room after which the Inn has been named. This unique rounded room where, in bygone times, horses walked around turning the grindstone to crush the crops, known as ‘ginning’, offers a good selection of soft drinks, wines, spirits including a variety of local gins, and local Cumbrian Craft Ales. Enjoy your stay at the Old Ginn House Inn!
Stayed here in October last year with my parents and it was absolutely wonderful. From check-in to check out, I could not fault it. My parents stayed in the courtyard suite which was wonderful for my parents as one of them has mobility issues and it was on the ground floor which was perfect for them. The bathroom they had was huge. I stayed in a standard room which was also very nice. The staff are so friendly and chatty and really make you feel at home. The bar the hotel has is great. And the food in the restaurant, is wow, absolutely incredible I fully understand now why you are advised to book for evening meal as it was some of the nicest food I have had in a long time. We all agreed as a family it is definitely somewhere we will return to.

My daughter chose the Washington Central Hotel for her hen party as the location was convenient for family and friends coming from different areas but it was an excellent choice as Adrian was most helpful in helping us plan the event. Nothing was too much trouble and service was with a smile from the receptionist checking us in to the bar and waiting staff. The food was excellent too, everyone enjoyed their meal. Some of us stayed over and the rooms we had were lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was not to be missed too. I'm so glad we had the party at the Washington, I would highly recommend it for an event, to stay or a meal. Thank you Adrian and the team for a great evening.

Friendly staff at this small family run hotel. We were on bikes and they brought them inside for security. Room was fine, very comfortable bed. They aren't serving food just now but recommended a local pub. A wee bar with Real ale at a reasonable price and friendly chat. Very nice breakfast. Recommended

The newly refurbished Sleepwell Inn has been upgraded to 4 star guest accommodation with the AA. The Sleepwell Inn is quality good value accommodation, located 100 metres from its sister hotel The Washington Central Hotel. Offering stylish, modern and comfortable accommodation in a town centre location. Guests have use of the Washington Central Hotels facilities, including full use of the hotel leisure club, pool and spa, Central bistro and bar and its front of house services. Reservations and check in/out are all completed at the Washington Central hotel.
The room had a large, comfortable bed and was clean and fresh. However the extremely small window and lack of air conditioning made it very hot, and it was noisy as there is a nightclub next door. There are no services at the hotel, you even have to walk 100 metres and cross a busy junction to check in at the sister hotel.

Made to feel so welcome as soon as I entered the hotel. Absolutely wonderful staff, always on hand and happy to help. My room was lovely and had everything I needed. A nice cosy bar is on site serving very nice food and competitively priced drinks. Breakfast was delicious too, good porton sizes. I really couldn't ask for more, will definitely be staying again.
