Named the "quintessential New England village," the town of Woodstock is chock full of charming Americana, including a covered bridge smack in the center of town and a village green surrounded by restored Georgian, Federal Style and Greek Revival homes. Spend a day wandering under the shade of 400-year-old hemlock trees at the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park and then revitalize yourself at Sugarbush Farm, where you can taste maple syrup or 14 varieties of cheese for free.

We stayed in a lower-floor room near the pool with our two small kids and dog, and the setup was great. The pool is really wonderful, and I was excited about the sauna — but did not get a chance to use it because, let's be honest, traveling with seven-year-olds is not relaxing for adults. We could walk right out to the grounds to walk the dog or get to our car. Really liked the setup. The restaurant is great and the bartender in particular was so lovely. She made me a few fantastic signature drinks and made my kids their first ever mocktails — with glitter! She was warm and engaging, loved her. A lot of the staff we found to be less than awesome, though. Hard to get in touch with the front desk. Took hours to get extra towels. The dining room really did not want to help us get our seven-year-olds fed when we did not have reservations during a snowstorm (everything else in town was closed). I get that the service industry has been hit haaaaaaaard by COVID but seriously, can you throw us a hot dog before my kids faint? I accidentally got in the way of the snow plow, who was driving like an unhinged lunatic, and he screamed and cursed at me for minutes on end. Note that this guy was NOT a hotel employee, but my general advice for staying here is: Abandon your notion of great service, do it for your kids, and bring extra snacks. And definitely call around to see if things are open if you expect to do anything outside the hotel!

Vermont's Most Beautiful Address. Woodstock Inn & Resort is a year-round destination in the village of Woodstock, Vermont that embraces the vision of Laurance and Mary Rockefeller. With a legacy that’s deeply rooted in the Woodstock community, the Inn is cherished for its preservation of New England history, heritage, and elegance.
We had an incredible stay at The Woodstock Inn. The hotel and grounds are gorgeous. We brought our little puppy with us and she loved it too! They are very dog friendly. All the staff were super friendly. Leonora and Libby really stood out. We didn’t have time but the pool looks magnificent and the temp was perfect. We were just busy so did not have time. We will be back.

We stayed for three nights. The location was perfect with wonderful and relaxing views of the Attaquechee River. And the staff , especially Patrick the manager was very helpful, beyond the call of duty. The only drawback was that they had no rooms with small kitchenettes. Be sure to ask for a river view!

June 2022. I was in Woodstock, VT for a family get together. I was looking for a place that was nice, reasonably priced, quiet and that would allow me to bring my dog. Sleep Woodstock has rooms specifically set aside for those bringing a dog and also dog free rooms (nice if you have allergies). It fit the bill. The rooms were lovely, very clean and attractive with great art. The bathroom was pristine. The kitchen had a coffee maker (and plenty of coffee & creamers), a small fridge & microwave. There's a great diner next door that opens early. Great breakfasts. Great pie and an ice cream window. (There were also healthier options at the diner as well.) It was easy to reach the staff anytime, which was usually the owners. I'll be sure to return.

We stayed in this lovely house on our visit to Woodstock. The house is beautiful and our room was huge and truly lovely. Excellent bed and excellent bathroom. All in very high level. The owners are good people and it felt very comfortable to stay here. Certainly a place to come again.

Immaculate, 12-room motel is set on a quiet hillside, only one mile from Woodstock's historic downtown. Discover why many Woodstock visitors return time and again to the Braeside!
If you are visiting the Woodstock VT area this is the perfect location to have as your base. First...the hotel. It is an older style setup...but very updated and very clean. Staff takes this seriously. The room is large compared to the cookie cutter highway hotels....no need to squeeze around the furniture to move around in the room. Good bed and TV...great shower and there is a mini fridge. Everything my wife and I needed for a 2 night stay. This is a family owned hotel and they are such sweet people....very easy to communicate with! They both told us about things to do and see in and around Woodstock VT. From restaurant recommendations that were spot on...to some back roads directions that led us to some fantastic views. We saw an old cemetery with a number of Revolutionary War vets, 3 different covered bridges which interests us, found an amazing thrift store in this HUGE old wooden building in the next town down from Woodstock...Bridgetown? After our explorations we took advantage of the huge Adirondack chairs on the beautiful hill overlooking some nice country scenery....postcards could be made of this view!! One place we loved was the Woodstock Market....I found some hard to get Vermont Craft brews and we decided on a couple of big sandwiches and salads for a picnic table lunch. In the end...we had a wonderful time in the area and would so recommend the kindness and hospitality you will experience while staying at The Braeside Lodge Woodstock Vermont.
